"Excellent last minute stay"
Decamoed here following checking out eksewhere due to noise, this was great alternative not sure we got the best rate due to last minuteness but we were desperate! Loved the room could have done with a bath but it was immaculate clean and comfortable and they seem to have thought of everything the dressing gowns were tiny! Corridors stunk like a curry house but this didnt permutate the room!

"Big, clean room for low price - winning"
The hotel is right on the sea front, walking distance from the main town. The rooms are big, the beds are comfortable and they are clean. The full English included in the price was spot on. The staff are friendly and the bar is cheap. You can't go wrong really!

"Convenient for shopping"
Staff excellent, room clean but a bit tired, windows were filthy outside, bathroom no shower curtain or screen bath panel cracked. Scaffolding has been there since our last stay in August 2014. we were upgraded as we have a loyalty card. On the whole the hotel needs a reburbishment, but still good value in comparrison to others in the vicinity.

"Nice old seaside hotel"
Friendly staff, rooms look nice but on closer inspection the carpet was getting worn, the notice in the breakfast room regarding the floor was there 3 years ago (different owners). I would have expected the floor to have been fixed by now especially if they thought it necessary to have a notice. The hotel appears to have dumbed down a bit as previously there was more available in the room e.g. Razors, combs, shower caps. Despite this I would still consider returning

Arcitecture really interesting. Faded grandkids though . Could look amazing with cleaning and a lick of paint in all areas . Reception tired . Dirty carpets throughout. Doors and door handles need clesning. Staff were lovely . Good welcome and very attentive. However it served a purpose.

"Could have been so much better"
Had a one night stay on the bank holiday weekend, paid a lot of money to stay here as we had never stayed in brighton before & didn't know what was good so went safe with the Hilton. we had our 6yr old daughter so had booked a double room with a single/child's bed & was assured it was all ok on booking. Of course it wasn't as on arrival there was a lot of tapping on the keyboard & going to & fro from the reception to the office & eventually was told that there were very few rooms available that could accommodate the child bed & it was lucky I checked in early. He then assured me that a room will be made up with the extra bed by the time of usual check in at 3pm, this was at 11am! we got back to the hotel at 4pm to get our key & I asked the man on reception had the bed been done, he didn't know but assumed it had, it hadn't. No extra bed in the room. From the room Couldn't find any information on what number to dial for reception, no wifi info, nothing. Finally a bed appeared at 5.30pm. In the meantime we had promised our daughter a swim before dinner so went down to the pool only to be told we couldn't go in as it was full, there were 2 other families also waiting so we had to give up & she was very dissappointed. Aside from this there was a lift out of order so the one remaining lift was slow & full every time so it was the stairs with our bags. All in all I left feeling that it wasn't worth the price tag. The saving grace were the staff.

"Perfectly nice - why the negative reviews?"
My stay in the annex was quiet and peaceful. Staff were helpful and looked after my case for me. The room was quite expensive but this is due to the location! Everywhere in Sussex is pricy. The room was very large and clean, with nice touches such as the loo roll being folded into a point and the towels neatly folded on the bed. Breakfast was excellent. The room decor wasn't very modern but I don't see how that would negatively impact a stay. I wasn't there to gaze at the room, I wanted a good night's sleep and a decent breakfast in a safe building, and it's what I got. I would return and I recommend this place.
