Weekend ConferencePosted 18-Nov-2013
Pros: Calm pleasant atmosphere. Clean and quiet.
Location: Within easy walking distance of the Winter Gardens and Theatre. Shops nearby. Close to the sea.
I stayed here for a weekend conference. This is the 4th year running I have chosen this place. A really great room with a fantastic view that allowed us to see the pier. Staff were helpful and friendly. We reported a broken light bulb and this was replaced quickly. Breakfast was excellent a hot buffet. Excellent service. Really close to the Winter Gardens which is where the conference was.

Pros: Modern and very clean, but a feeling of warmth and welcoming, very close to everything in Eastbourne, beach, shopping and theatre.
Cons: Nil just enjoyed my stay.
Location: The beach is opposite the hotel, near public transport, shops, walking and for me personally close to the theatres which provide varied entertainment.
Great Hotel close to all amenities. Room was spacious and clean with seaview. The Hotel is bright and welcoming but with an air of calmness too. The staff were most helpful, with always a welcoming smile. I would certainly use this hotel again.

Very nice hotelPosted 14-Oct-2013
Pros: The decoration. Feels very luxurious when you walk in.
Cons: The bar. More staff needed.
This is the second time this year that I have stayed here. The last time was in the Summer for the Lammas Festival and this time we went there for the Eastbourne Bonfire Night (October 4th). We arrived a few hours early and were able to put our bags in a little room for safety and we were able to book in as soon as the room was available which was nice. The room was very nicely furnished and the bathroom was a nice size (bigger than the one I had last time). All the rooms I take it are very different, but very clean and comfortable. We had a good nights sleep and went down to a lovely full english breakfast buffet. We were asked if we would like tea, coffee and toast and it was brought to us. The view from the dining room was beautiful although very bright. One of the Waitresses went out to bring down the sun shade so that everyone was comfortable. Again, the only downside to the hotel (and I brought this up in my last review) was the amount of bar staff. There just aren't enough. There are people in the seating area outside the bar being served, but not enough staff behind the bar to cope with just the few waiting to buy a quick drink in the bar. One or two more staff would be just right. They did very well, but can see that it could get quite stressful.

Fantastic position on the frontPosted 11-Oct-2013
Pros: Professionalism service position
Cons: Possible option of feather pillows, but that is a personal quirk of mine
Location: Plenty of places to eat and drink great walks along the front, swim if you want, nice shops, and other towns nearby.(look up local events too.
The exterior of the hotel is a little bit in need of updating BUT don't let that put you off inside is really lovely visually and comfort wise. You will get a nice welcome when you check in and all the staff were great. The rooms are not quite as fancy as the lobby area but they are still really nice for a grand old hotel. Our room was made into a double from two singles so the bed was huge and comfortable. We asked for a sea view which was great listening to the waves all night. We were a small group of 5 (3 and 2) and we had the most perfect weekend, and will return.

THANK YOU CAVENDISHPosted 6-Oct-2013
Pros: The staff in every department are very efficient, friendly and nothing appears to be too much trouble for them.
Cons: Nothing that I can think of.
Location: The Congress theatre is within easy walking distance and we saw the show Cabaret during our stay.
Another enjoyable break at the Cavendish. I had inadvertently booked the wrong category of room and did not realise until we checked in. However the receptionist very quickly transferred to a more suitable room. Very efficient and helpful.

Good central position in the townPosted 29-Sep-2013
Pros: The décor in the public areas of the hotel
Cons: Thought the evening meal was a bit disappointing.
Location: Very good location within easy reach of all local amenities, eg beach, shops and theatres
Very comfortable hotel and although we were in a room overlooking the car park the room itself made up for this. It was very spacious and pleasing.

Cavendish Hotel, EastbournePosted 22-Sep-2013
Cons: The bedside light switches - had to get out of bed to switch on/off lights. I had to feel in the dark to switch on light as no street lights to help!!
Location: On the seafront lovely. Not far from theaters, shops, bandstand, pier and public transport.
Single room size excellent and even though at the back of hotel had a fantastic view of the Downs. Breakfast was excellent - usual English breakfast from buffet or you could choose A La Carte and the items on this were varied and lovely. The general areas were beautiful and the library room was a lovely feature of the hotel.
