“Gem in the City”
Right in the heart of the city, within walking distance to nearly everything of interest, was a very comfortable hotel. The breakfast was excellent. My only complaint is that I wasn't traveling with a laptop, and the hotel lobby computer was broken.
“Very Impressed.”
Our first time in Gent, and very impressive it was. The hotel is right in the centre giving easy access to the main areas of Gent, once you park you could leave the car there your whole stay if your not intending to go outside the city. The carpark was the only problem, really, it is small and you can easily get blocked in which happened to us at 07:00 in the morning. The room (Chopin) was excellent, roomy, tidy, warm and a bed big enough to hold a hockey match on. Gent is a wonderful city, large pedestrian areas, lots of restruants and bars overlooking the many waterways, great shops and old buildings. One word of caution, take a good map, the road system is a nightmare for out of towners. Overall well recomended.
“The best hotel in Gent”
Was 3 of us on the way to Gent. Hotel is situated on the heart of Gent, everywhere was so close. The receptionist Zoe is one of the most friendly person whom we met in Belgium. Rooms looks lovely and beds are so comfortable ;), big and nice baths plus very delicious breakfasts. Free car park opposite hotel and it's high recommend for everyone ;). We suppose stay just one night there but instead other night in Nederland we decided to back to this hotel for last night.
“great locatio, tired hotel”
Hotel in a great location, quiet but only 2 mins from the 'action' although the hotel is 'tired' and in need of generous updating. Air conditioning and tea/coffee in the room would be a great start. Also, a lobby to sit while waiting for others. Ghent is a lovely place, despite the extensive work going on in the centre. You still get the 'Belgian sewer smell' occasionally anywhere in town. Still, very enjoyable with everything well within walking distance despite what it may llok like on the local maps. Driving from the UK via Eurotunnel was a joy.
“Great location”
Located in teh heart of town.
“Very nice”
This hotel is very centrally located in Ghent, right near the famous three spires. The premier room is very spacious, and the staff are very helpful. We certainly had an enjoyable experience, and would recommend the hotel to anyone staying in Ghent.
“better than expected”
Lots of bad reviews on trip advisor we found to be unjustified. Our room was fine although the bathroom was a little cramped - had to sit sideways on the toilet! Staff were very helpful. Good continental breakfast.
“Good location- little else”
If you can get a good price, and intend to spend little time in the hotel, this is an OK place to stay. Location is pretty much dead center of the historic district with easy tram access. Dirty rugs, really soft beds and an outrageous 13 euro for breakfast are downers.

Ghent, Belgium: The heart and soul of Ghent is the picture-perfect, car-free Old Town. Tour boats ply the Lys River, with the medieval guild houses of Graslei and Korenlei streets casting their reflections upon the placid waters. St. Bavo's Cathedral houses the magnificent Lamb of God altarpiece, painted by the van Eyck brothers in the 1400s. The Gravensteen Castle, built in the 1100s, is another must-see.
