Excellent location. An average hotel. The staff were quite miserable at times. The quality of the breakfast was average - nothing to write home about. It is however worth it for the excellent location if you're not looking for luxury.
We had a lovely stay at the Bernini Palace. The hotel is wonderfully situated - short walks from the sites, restaurants and shopping. The staff is extraordinary - helpful, pleasant, helpful. The hotel exudes old world charm and is well maintained and clean. We would happily stay at this hotel on our next visit to Florence.
This hotel has lots of character and full of period features. The position is good being close to the railway station and the centre of Florence. If you like a sterile modern hotel then I wouldn't recommend but if you appreciate classic style while being very comfortable then this is a good choice. Staff are friendly and helpful. I will stay there again.
I am very busy and don't like to waste my time but I thought I had to compliment this hotel and the staff. My wife and I traveled with our daughter and we were expecting to be very tight in the room. We were given a very spacious suite with two bedrooms. The beds were great, the view was spectacular facing the cathedral. The breakfast menu was delicious. Staff was great. I will return
This small but nice hotel is literally in the middle of everything you would want to do in Florence. Duomo is stones throw away. Uffuzi Gallery is a nice ten minute walk. The streets are safe. Some tips: Florence wakes up slowly. Enjoy the free breakfast. Relax. Florence doesn't get going until 9AM. On the other side of things, Florence stores shut down at 6PM promptly. There is a dead hour before the restaurants get going. But Florence eats late. Great place near the hotel. The location lets you dump bags or refresh yourself before hitting the bricks again. Tiny elevator but that's part of the charm. Hotel Centrale makes for a great base of operations
Housed in the ancient and prestigious Palazzo Malaspina , the 3-star Centrale hotel is located in the very heart of …More
I stayed at the hotel for 10 days with my wife and our 16 month old baby. The staff there is very friendly and accommodating and made our stay easier. They made us feel right at home. The room was clean and quite big. It contained a king bed, a single bed and a shower.
The location of the hotel is unbeatable. It is literally 10 seconds walk from il Duomo. There is an abundance of restaurants, bars, cafeterias, etc close-by. Just around the corner is the piazza republica where there is an antique carousel for kids.
I will definitely re-book at this hotel when I revisit Florence.
Pretty much everything about this hotel was very good. The lady on reception was extremely helpful and made us feel welcome immediately on our arrival. We were allocated a very spacious, bright and air conditioned room on the top floor, with magnificant views across the rooftops of the major buildings in Florence. It is very conveniently located, just 5 minutes walk from Il Duomo, and is surrounded by excellent bars and restaurants. Parking was sorted quickly and easily through the hotel's arrangements with the nearby parking garage, who collected the car and returned it to us when we required it. Probably the best feature of the hotel was the roof-top terrace bar, which gave us breathtaking views of the city skyline at sunset. My only criticism of the hotel was that the breakfast was nothing special, for example with tinned fruit cocktail rather than the fresh fruit that one would expect from this quality of hotel. Overall, this hotel was a great base to use to explore this magnificent city and we would gladly stay here again.
The Basilica di Santa Maria del Fiore, or Duomo for short, is one of Italy’s largest churches, and tops the list of places to visit in Florence. The impressive Gothic architecture features an ornate exterior, stained glass windows, and a cavernous interior. Two popes are buried here, and three of the buildings are on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
