“Very Nice Hotel”
I HAVE BEEN TO GRETNA HALL THREE TIMES OVER THE PAST YEAR. MY FIRST VISIT WAS TO CHECK OUT THE HOTEL AS A WEDDING VENUE. I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT THE HOTEL IS VERY CLEAN AND STAFF ARE VERY FRIENDLY. I WILL BE RETURNING IN OCTOBER FOR MY BIG DAY (WEDDING) AND WILL BE STAYING AT GRETNA HALL AGAIN. THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT I CAN MAKE IS THAT THE DECO IN THE PASSAGEWAYS COULD DO WITH BEING UPDATED, HOWEVER THE DECO DOES SUIT THE HOTEL FOR THE YEAR IT WAS BUILT
“Would stay here again”
We chose this hotel because of the location and our brother was getting married at the blacksmiths at the side of the hotel. We were not dissapointed the staff were friendly and very helpfull, the rooms were very clean and comfortable. There was a good choice for breakfast with waitress service. the only thing we did notice were the carpets in the corridors need replacing.

Overall the hotel was nice, the staff were pleasant and the rooms were cleaned to a good standard. However the breakfast on both mornings was not up to standard. instead of a choice of bread for the continental breakfast, we were given cobs which were past there best.

Basic Hotel, but everything in place for a one night stay.
“Decent choice for the borderlands”
First tried to stay in Carlyle and Dumfries. This hotel and town was inbetween and the special rate made it an attractive choice. It was actually much better than I expected given the special rate. At normal rates I might not have thought so highly of it.
“Get What You Pay For”
The hotel has an impressive frontage and the staff were friendly and efficient. We asked for a change of room due to its proximity with a banging corridor door and we were changed without any fuss or problems. The rooms were a bit tired though very clean and we were pleased with the ameneties provided for the Expedia price we paid. Breakfast was very good and freshly cooked to order. The hotel is located near the centre of Gretna and most places of interest are within walking distance.
“Overnight stop on the way to the Highlands”
Decor slightly shabby, but overall an excellent overnight stay,bar food goood and inexpensive, Breakfast excellent with very good service. Will use again.

rooms were clean and tidy bedding and toweling was also very clean food very good and friendliness of staff was excellent
“Fun weekend!”
My husband and I went to this hotel for a friends wedding. It's an ideal place to go with lots of friends. The staff made the weekend extra fun! The bartender was a great laugh. I would recommend this hotel to others but warn them it could really do with a refurb first. Tartan carpets are fun for Scotland but not if a bit threadbare. This I know as I fell over on one of these patches! :) Still, I would go again should any other friends decide to get married.
“Needs a revamp.”
Our friends got married in the Blacksmiths Shop attached to the hotel, which was fantastic but the actual hotel itself is looking a little tired and could do with a lick of paint and some new carpet. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. Tea and coffee making facilities were provided in the room, which was great as breakfast was a bit of a slow ordeal! It took quite some time for the coffee and cooked food to arrive.
