“Great apart from the non-existant air con”
Our only problem with this hotel was the lack of promised air con. We visited during a heat wave and chose this hotel as it had ac. We were told that there was not enough electricity to run it, so we sweltered all week. Aside from that, the hotel was a nice mix of older style exterior with modern minimalist interior. All very clean and bright. Bathroom small but great shower with jets, and hair dryer. Lovely big buffet breakfasts and evening meals. Service very prompt and friendly. The views of the bay were to die for! Suitable for people wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday with not much going on.
“Relaxing break”
It's difficult to separate Hotel Sipan from the location because the two very much come together. Overall we had a really brilliant time. The island is beautiful and the hotel is sound. On the first night we stayed above the bar which had a speaker blasting into our room until 1 in the morning and then constantly from 7am but we moved very quickly (nice staff) and the new room had a beautiful view. Rooms are small but adequate and the food is good if you go in half board. It doesn't match the other restaurants on the island (there's a nearby fish restaurant which was stunning) but I wouldn't expect it to and we ate out 3 nights out of 7. It's a quiet island, which was exactly what we were after, and it was great to relax away from the tourist scrum in Dubrovnic - swimming in the ocean, relaxing in a secluded spot or joining others on the small beach. It's possible to get boats to Dubrovnic and other islands and we found the country beautiful. A great relaxing time. Would definitely go again.
