“Cheap and Cheerful”
If a basic hostel is what you're looking for, then this is for you. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and Staff are friendly. Only issue i have was that many of the toilets were missing seats.
“un rapport qualité/prix imbattable”
description conforme, petit dortoir de 4 lits superposés pour les gros mangeurs, prévoir un complément au breakfast
“Cheap place to stay”
You know when booking you are going into a hostel, we were a bit scared after reading the feedback but to our suprise it was clean and very friendly, the security is tight and I would stay again. It's great for those on a tight budget.
“reccomended hostel”
I was surprised staying in this hostel, it was pretty nice. You must pay for a blanket (2 euro!) and/or locker but we didn't really need either. They serve you a breakfast which we always were too late for, but it was basically cereal and toast. The staff was pretty helpful, although every time we had a simple concern (updating the keycard every day for example) we had to wait behind people checking in which took forever.
“Simple but ok”
Our stay at Browns was ok, no problems at all. We had read reviews that showed the place was dirty and smelly but we couldn't fault it. Its plain and simple but ok for a couple of nights as a cheap place to rest your head. Good base for Dublin. Staff were all extremly pleasant.
“good as a place to sleep”
I read some pretty awful reviews of Browns Hostel and was a little scared, but it was fine. The room was clean, the bathrooms/showers were just like any other hostel. I'd go back.
“Kind of Cool”
You know what, I messed up on my reservations and instead of paying full price for a three star hotel that didn't deserve the rating, I stayed here for one night, and it was kind of cool. The people were nice and friendly. It is really not such a bad place to stay when you are in a pinch and you need budget accomodations. The staff is excellent!
“My Place Hostel”
Great location, friendly staff, very budget and not great maintenence or services but fine for the money and would stay there again on a budget.
“2 nuits pas plus”
Le plus : l'emplacement central parfait pour les visites. Dortoir de 20 lits, la cohabitation peut être pénible mais c'est surtout l'état des douches qui est à déplorer (moisi partout, saleté, aucune intimité et des toilettes qui ne ferment pas). Auberge parfaite quand on a 20 ans, un petit budget et qu'on n'est pas regardant côté hygiène.
“Top of the yawning!”
As my title suggests, I found it incredibly tiring staying in this hotel, despite only doing so for 1 night. I have no issues with the staff, they all seemed friendly, and the pool table in the lounge was good fun, otherwise I was not impressed. The bedrooms were cramped, with a mixed aroma of sweat from armpits and feet, and the beds were not at all comfortable. Not 1 lock in the whole hotel worked, and everywhere was extremely dirty and in short supply, did not risk using the showers. The corridors were extremely dated, as was the general feel to the hotel and the breakfast was poor and disgusting. The location was fantastic though, very close to O'Connell St and Henry St, not far from the River Liffy either. So I reccommend it to anybody who a) likes to be close to all the cities vibrant & cosmopolitan life and b) who doesnt mind a sleepless trip to Dublin if it will save them money. A lot cheaper than Bono's Clarences(?) up the road!
