Work/Life balance

Posted 19-Oct-2014
Pros: Polite and efficient staff in particular.
Cons: I tried to get a spa appointment but everything was fully booked, more. Availability for guests would be good.
Location: See above.
Recently had a four night stay at The Habtoor Grand. The hotel staff were delightful, especially the very thoughtful guy on reception when I check in very late at night. Thank you Mina. The hotel is located in the Marina area convenient for the business I had during the day and the event I was attending at a local venue. Taxi's were plentiful and staff polite and courteous when I asked for directions. I visited two of the pools, the Ppol Bar, Lebanese restaurant, and the nightclub (slightly scary but only because I'm really too old to go to nightclubs). The room was very clean and the decor pleasant.

Very Nice Facility

Posted 10-Oct-2014
Pros: The beach access, outdoor facilities and the terrace pool especially.
Cons: The food at the breakfast buffet was fine, but it would have been nicer if it could be held somewhere else on the property, instead of in the basement
Location: Skydive Dubai
Check-in and check out went very smoothly. The room and the facilities are clean and very nice. The staff at the small coffee shop in the lobby was particularly nice and helpful. Concierge did a good job with all our odd requests. There is a shuttle provided by some of the near-by malls that is handy. The location was perfect for us and the business we had to attend to.

GOOD LOCATION

Posted 7-Oct-2014
Pros: LOCATION
Cons: REDUCE THE COST OF INTERNET CHARGES
Location: ITS A BEACH LOCATION, WITH PLENTY OF RESTAURANTS.
ON ARRIVAL, WE WERE UPGRADED TO A SUITE WITH A NICE VIEW OVER THE MARINA. THE HOTEL IS UNDERGOING UPGRADES AND DRILLING SOUND CAN BE HEARD AFTER 0900HRS, THIS DID NOT EFFECT OUR STAY AT THE HOTEL. WE DID NOT EAT AT THE HOTEL, SO NO COMMENTS ON THE FOOD,THE ROOM WAS CLEANED DAILY AND LEFT TO A HIGH STANDARD, WE SELECTED THIS HOTEL DUE TO ITS LOCATION AS THERE IS CONSTRUCTION TAKING PLACE ALONG THE 'WALK' TO FACILITATE A TRAM SERVICE, OVERALL I ENJOYED MY STAY THERE AND WOULD USE AGAIN.

Resort rooms

Posted 30-Sep-2014
Cons: Resort rooms should be either completely renovated or removed. They really make a bad first impression.
Location: Two lively spots, Dubai marina and JBR walk is walking distance from the hotel. They have an excellent selection of shops and restaurants.
We booked resort rooms. They were, to say the least disappointing. There were insects on the floor, were smelly and the bathroom got flooded every time we had a shower. I complained to one of the managers. Luckily he was understanding and upgraded us to club rooms, which were ok. Breakfast had limited choice for a 5 star hotel and service was average, although the staff made a genuine effort to please. I think it should be downgraded to 4 stars, considering the facilities provided

Lovely hotel very nice to have a private beach

Posted 27-Sep-2014
Really enjoyed our stay at the habtoor, we booked a club lounge room which obviously meant access to the club lounge but the hotel was having a refit through out and caused a few inconviences. The club lounges were spread over to other Restraunts on the complex though and staff were very accommodating Great food great weather will defiently return next year.

Amazing

Perfect service, fantastic bed and bathroom amazing. Working on ground floor entrance but didn't bother us at all as everything we wanted still open and fine. Gym is brilliant as is the pool and its a great place for beach walks, the walk and a shuttle bus service to malls if that's your ballgame.

Definitely not for Western Expats! Also, renovations underway spoiled the visit.

Not a five star hotel

Posted 7-Jun-2014
Pros: Nothing really except the Lebanese food restaurant had decent food
Cons: Hotel needs an overhaul. Pool water was extremely dirty and way overcrowded.
Location: Close to the JBR walk and marina
We are used to Dubai hotels where all the furniture and carpet and amenities in the room are new. This was a surprise to us. We had to pay for Internet and you could only have one device. If you have two iPads, you have to pay for Internet twice. Our car came scratched and dirtied with smudges on the right side of it, the duty manager said that they only have white markings on their cars usually and so the black ones are not from his hotel. The pool is outdated and overcrowded with people who apparently are from the yearly membership and not really staying at the hotel. The staff of the pool area were rude at times.
