Poor BathoomsPosted 2-Mar-2014
Pros: Locations plus facilities - pool and restaurants
Cons: bathrooms and in particular plumbing needs updating. TV's need to be dumped in the ocean and replaced with something less than 15 years old.
The hotels amenities - the pools, restaurants and bars were 5 star standard, but I would rate the rooms we stayed in (I booked two) both, at best 3 star standard. Old outdated television where none of the cable movie channels worked. We were restricted to international news with mostly Arabic content on the rest. The worst feature however were the bathrooms. Turn on the shower and wait 5 minutes before the water became warm, then it would dribble out of the shower head. Barely enough to wash yourself - and both my wife and I and my daughter and her partner believed it was the worst bathroom experience we had ever seen. Certainly not worthy of a 5 star hotel.

lovely hotel with a superb location on beachPosted 25-Feb-2014
Pros: great location
Location: right on beach and close to the marina and the walk
this is the best part of Dubai to stay in as everything is close to hand and if you need to go further the metro is near and handy. great hotel with nice gardens and selection of bars and restuarants and own beach .

Nice hotel, needs meals improvementPosted 25-Feb-2014
Pros: big pool, good access to the beach, bars everywhere in the pool area through the beach. clean and spacious room.
Cons: TV changed channel to hotel channel by itself. breakfast buffet is average. lucianos restaurant asks to sign a waiver in case you get poisoned, weird!
Location: JBR really close, emirates mall close too
Hotel was nice. we booked a room for the four of us, two adults and two children. we were upgraded without asking to a suite which was nice. the pool was nice, beach was good, facilities excellent, biggest gym I had seen in a hotel in my life with modern equipment. room had a shower and a separate tub. in general the hotel is really nice, well located, walking distance from JBR. however, the weirdest thing I had seen in a restaurant, specifically at the Lucianos. after we finished our meal we were asked to sign a hotel waiver in case we got food poisoning. I think this is outrageous, as we were asked to sign after we finished the meal and not before we ordered. I felt I was signing a waiver after a scuba diving immersion. I think this is ridiculous. lucky us we ate at the hotel only the day we arrived, besides breakfast buffet. this didn't give us enough confidence that the food is well prepared in this hotel. the breakfast buffet was average, not a lot of variety in general. scrambled eggs need to improve and fruit selection, only watermelon, orange and grapefruit available.

Close to beach and great locationPosted 30-Dec-2013
There were a few minor things that could be better like the price of the wifi etc! £100 for a week which is ridiculous as other hotels in the area are all free. Other than that. Price is very competitive for "on beach hotel" Would stay again and very goods for family's and couples!! Bars and beach club too!

Great short breakPosted 5-Nov-2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed a couple nights whilst in Dubai. First time we have stayed in hotel in Dubai as usually taken apartment when we visit. Found it to be better priced than other hotels nearby for the school holiday week though think they are always pricey these hotels. Check in quick and were upgraded from our chosen room. When we got to our room there wasn't any beds for our kids as we had originally booked a family room. The porter sorted this in minutes and bed and cot promptly arrived. There are multiple bars and restaurants of different type in the hotel and I have to say we found all to be very good and service excellent. The beach is a little walk from main hotel towers and the sun loungers are a fair distance form the actual water. Would certainly consider returning.

In need of upliftPosted 26-Oct-2013
Pros: Location is good
Cons: Free wi-fi
Location: On beach near Wild Wadhi
Hotel is looking a little tired and worn and needs an uplift The wi-fi is ridculously expensive for a claimed 5 star hotel this should be free

An amazing way to finish our round the world tripPosted 26-May-2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel-resort is AMAZING and by far THE best place we have ever stayed. The pool and pool bar is amazing, and the resort has its own private beach. Most of the staff are so happy and friendly, especially concierge & one worker called Juma. He was such a character and likes to have a laugh with the guests. The only downside to this place is you have to pay for wifi which is expensive. 100 dirum for 24 hours. And also if you want to play tennis you have to pay. Cocktails and drinks at the bar are expensive but this is to be expected at most places in Dubai. This hotel gave us a awesome first impression of Dubai, and definitely has WOW factor!
