“Bath but no shower, room must be cleaned at 9.30am...”

Our 3 person room had an ensuite, but there was no shower. How weird! And very unfortunate that it wasn't properly documented on expedia or trip advisor. The room was super clean, but unfortunately room cleaning starts from 9.30 and the cleaners won't come back later! The hotel owner is quite lovely, but the overall running of the place and front desk manner could be warmer and more accommodating.

“Avoid this place unless you like the abuse.”

The Newbury hotel is in a great location, 2 blocks from a beautiful coastline. Upon arrival as you know, your hotel is prepaid. This place demanded payment and 5% added for using the credit card. She claims the British don't use heat in their rooms and turned off the heat. My guess is she is struggling and winter in England does not cover the rent. Check out is 10am. It is an old house, which should be nice. The room is Euro small but even more so than I typically see. The star rating listed is way off. Two star maybe. You have far more choice than this rude person offers.
