“Very pleasant stay”

Myself and my partner stayed for one night in the Peacock Room. The decor and furnishing of the guest house was Victorian in style and we were very impressed with the overall grandeur of the house and the grounds. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable. The cooked breakfast in the morning was very generous with great service. We found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. There was definitely a homely feel to the place that you do not usually get in an average B&B or hotel. For the reasonable price paid for the room, there was definitely good value for money. We will definitely recommend to others.

“A charming victorian hotel”

This victorian hotel, provides a great character venue and the owners are very helpful, friendly and amienable. The room was upgraded from a single room which gave a bonus of a spacious bedroom. Breakfast was served at a time of my choice. The owner even ensured that my car was clear of frost before I set off to my business meeting. My only down mark was that the room was quite cold initially and took some time to warm up. However, to be fair, I was the only guest in the hotel and the timing was in the middle of winter on an exceptionally cold evening

“A charming retreat in Stinsford, Dorset.”

The cadre of the hotel was charming, both romantic and quirky. Old Victorian setting, attractive grounds and strutting peacock were the positive features. The abandoned railway carriage overrun with vegetation behind the hotel was both unexpected and amusing. There was an overall feel of "faded grandeur" but it's certainly charming. The location is ideal in the heart of Thomas Hardy's country.
