“Lovely, quaint inn.”

We experienced a very enjoyable two night stay at the George & Dragon. We would thoroughly recommend staying here. It's a family run inn and everyone involved made us feel very welcome and could not do enough for us. We ate in the restaurant on the first night, the food and wine choice is very good, particularly the fish dishes. The pub locals are also very friendly and we enjoyed their company late into the night! Breakfast was delicious but, as seems quite fashionable now, we had to pay extra for a cooked breakfast. We really feel that for the cost of the room we had, cooked breakfast should be included. However, the continental breakfast which is included is very good. I'm not sure a cooked breakfast would actually be needed by most after it, but it should be through choice, not because of cost. The rooms are lovely, as are the choice of teas, coffee, crisps and chocolate outside of your room. Our only gripes are that the outside needs a bit of tlc and the doors to the bedrooms are not very substantial. You can hear everything through them in your room when other guests are on the landing. Therefore, they can also hear you in your room! They are in keeping with the 14th Century building, but it did leave us feeling a little exposed at times. All in all, we would stay here again because the food is excellent, the rooms are very nice and the owners are so lovely & accommodating.
