“Grumpy Desk Clerk”
The only disappointment was a grumpy desk clerk; she never cracked a smile and asked questions like a drill sargent. She didn't fit the image of the hotel.
“great experience”
Cheap, convenient, & the shuttle picked me up extremely fast!
“PLeasantly surprised!”
Considering the cheap price, I wasn't expecting much, just convenience and a place to lay my head, but both my husband and I were very surprised to find this as an old diamond in the rough. This is a very nice, clean and hotel that is very well kept up (on the inside) it looks rough on the outside. We were very happy.
“great staff”
great staff and location !! will stay there again. Close to all
“Will stay again”
Staff was very pleasant and helpful. Very convenient location - easy access to highway and downtown. For the price difference of the downtown hotels - stay here and drive.
“Even Without Electricity”
We do get a hotel room at the airport the night before an early flight because I am completely neurotic about missing planes and the weather and traffic around Detroit can be chancy. So we pulled off of the highway, swung around the corner onto Merrimam Road, and the usual vista of 15 hotels, 12 twelve park and drives and 7 stoplights, etc., is completely missing. For a wild moment, I thought we had the wrong exit. Rather, the power was out from the icestorm that morning. We carefully crept along the road looking for the drive to the hotel (which we had fortunately used in the past, or I dont know how we would have found it in the dark). I went past the loud, diesel belching generator to see if they were open. The staff were all standing behind the service desk in coats and mittens as the electric doors were propped open. (It was December) When I asked if they were still receiving guests, they pointed out the power was out. Yeah, I noticed. Then they tell me there is no heat or lights. Yeah, I had figured that out as well. So they gave us little chemical glow sticks, hauled our luggage up two (instead of the original four) flights of stairs to our room, and promised a wake up call as the alarms are, of course, run by electricity. We spent the night toasty warm a fabulous down comforter, on a fabulous feather bed, and were awakened at five by somebody pounding on the door. Could not ask for better service or attitude under the circumstances.
“Very Nice!”
This was my second stay and I highly recommend this hotel. Pool was very nice.
“Free Shuttle to Detroit airport”
I arrived at the hotel at 10pm and left at 5am, so I was too late to be able to use the pool and too early to get any breakfast. Unfortunately, there wasn't a coffee maker in my room and nowhere to get a hot drink. But apart from that my room was very comfortable, and a great deal through Expedia. The shuttle arrived on time...even though the minibus wasn't big enough to take all 12 of the waiting people in one trip. Thanks to the very helpful maintenance man who (without being asked) accompanied me to my room and wheeled one of my suitcases.
“Elegant Hotel”
We were very impressed with the hotel when we arrived. When we booked the hotel and found such great rates (50% that weekend) we were a little leery about what kind of hotel it may be. However when we arrived we were VERY impressed with how clean and posh the hotel looked. The staff was very friendly and helpful and we had a great time during our stay. The only minor issue was that the hot tub was down for maintenance during our stay and there were no extra towels in the pool area. We would gladly stay at this hotel again and may very well do so!
“Will return to this hotel again when going to Detroit”
They were very helpful with questions and I would be happy to return.
