MGM is a luxurious getaway right in the heart of Detroit. The rooms are incredible and you can't beat the rate. The pool and spa are amazing and the service is impeccable. Comparable to Vegas, this hotel rocks!

Wedding days

Cons: Have a better air quality system to help people breath better
This was our first time ever in Detroit. the Hotel staff wer very coridal and accomodating. Being a non-smoker I did find the restaurants with in the hotel to be less than favorable due in part to the casino and an open air environment. I hate eating with an ashtray. The rest of the hotel was fine.

Great hotel with all the amenities.

Pros: Restaurants/bars are all within the hotel.
Cons: The pool should be heated as the water was freezing. Also, regular business travellers should have access to the concierge level.
Location: Close to downtown.
Stayed here on a business trip in July for 3 days. Excellent hotel and customer service.

Excellent Hotel. Amazing.

Posted 24-Jul-2014
Pros: The staff was absolutely the best staff ever! The room was very comfortable yet elegant. The hotel itself had so much to do and participate in.
Cons: I know it can't be improved but it would be nice if they could somehow let people under 21 into the restaurants down stairs.
Location: It's a little on the down side upon entering the town but once you get to the hotel it's like a whole new world. We treated ourselves to a Tigers game
Upon arrival, valet was very polite and helpful. Check in time was very quick. Clerk was very helpful, gave us a map and then marked it to the areas I had mentioned we were in town for and gave us the quickest routes. We then went up to the room which was lovely. Beds were so soft. The shower was huge and great water pressure. Our view was beautiful sight of the city. Our only problem was the people with me were not 21. They could not go down to the restaurants to get food. I had to go down myself get menus or pictures of and then take back because my phone could not keep wifi to send back in a text message form (My phone is not currently hooked up to a service I use wifi only.) That was pretty hard on me to make so many trips down and back. However, everything else was excellent. The service was great. Everyone was friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay as good as possible. Room service is expensive I do recommend the restaurants in the Casino area. Also there isn't any vending machines that I could find nor could a staff tell me if they did or not have. Drinks were very expensive as far as pop or water. I would recommend bringing your own for your room. The staff will go to great lengths to make your stay pleasurable. The room we stayed in was very clean and very comfortable. A 42 inch flat screen was in our room. Three phones to use. A mini bar was also included but no mini fridge. It is weighted so be careful not to move it unless you want it.

Loud in Rooms

Posted 22-Jul-2014
Pros: The decor was pleasing and the beds were very comfortable. Bathrooms quite lush even w/o a tub. Valet service, exceptional.
Cons: That could have asked at the front counter how my stay was, but nothing remotely close to that was asked. Soundproofing of the rooms.
Location: My group went to the Eastern Market, which was awesome and also the Detroit Historical Museum which was very good.
I was really disappointed when our neighbers were so loud while I was trying to get to sleep and then again in the middle of the night. For the price you pay for your rooms, exorbinant, you would expect soundproofing, either the walls are very thin or no soundproofing, I could actually make out the words that were spoken. Also, I was awoken at 6am from the alarm clock going off and to turn it off, I had to unplug from the wall. I didn't set it and was very upset that I had to actually turn on the light and push several buttons that appeared to be off buttons to not have them work and to actually unplug to get it to turn off.
