The problem I had was I purchased a suite one bedroom, the website said utensils pots and pans would be in room . It wasn’t any pots or pans or utensils in my room … there was dishes from the last people dirty in the dishwasher no face towels in my room … already had to wait a extra hour when I got there for the room to be cleaned . The sink was broke kept filling up and disposal was broken . For $330 for a room this was to me just too much problems. I checked out early..

This was a horrible stay I requested the 3rd floor which was granted but the stove didn’t work so I moved to the second floor…this was horrible the ppl upstairs stomped from morning to night I couldn’t sleep…this place is disgusting and dirty. I’m surprised it’s apart of the Sonesta family. Check out is 12 some guy knocked on my door stating he has to fix something I informed him I’m checking out within an hour he said I still have to come in I closed my door moments later another man knocked he said he was housekeeping, I was so uncomfortable with the whole place. The front desk clerk was great but that was the only normalcy I felt.

There was urine in the toilet when I first entered the hotel room leaving the room polluted with the smell of it. When I lifted up the mattress to check for bed bugs, none were found but underneath the mattress was absolutely filthy. I found a Happy’s pizza receipt from 07/02/23 underneath the mattress indicating that the mattress wasn’t cleaned properly. The floor wasn’t vacuumed and furniture was not in good condition.

We had to be moved to 3 different rooms because 1st room we walked in and there were dirty sheets and towels on the floor 2nd room TV didnt work and 3rd room bed was barely made very dirty baseboards and hair all in bathroom sink and hallway was very Noisy. I will NEVER recommend or stay in another Sonesta.

Wasnt even able to get in. No one was at the desk to check me in. Soon as you walk in the door people we congregating and smokng. Being a non smoker walking into a smoke filled facility is not a good look.

The Sonesta Suites hotel Southfield is an awful place to stay. There was an awful stench in the room that seemed to be coming from the carpet. There were bed bugs in the room and I informed 3 people, including 2 ladies that claimed to be management and nothing was done about it. I had fresh bite marks on my arms and legs that weren’t present before sleeping in that room. Unfortunately I don’t remember their names, but the 1st lady (who is pregnant) said she would make a call and that someone would be coming that week but no one did. I had to follow up myself because none of the “managers” did ANYTHING they said they were going to do. The 2nd person I complained to(after my clothes had been stolen from the dryer) wasn’t even aware of my initial complaint. I told her that my clothes were stolen and about the bedbugs and requested a refund. Of course she said she would get someone out Asap about the bedbugs And would follow up with me about my refund request. Again someone saying they were going to do something, but did nothing. They didn’t care because it wasn’t them in a room with a terrible smell and bedbugs. I always had to follow up with them because nothing was being done. This place doesn’t deserve any stars. Also, the side doors stayed propped open ALL DAY EVERY DAY, which meant anything and anyone could come in. Again this hotel is an awful place to stay and I’m going to make sure I tell anyone who will listen about my experience there. I checked out this past Saturday

Definitely not for everyone
The staff was great. Under the circumstances, they did their best. This was one of the worst hotels that me and my family ever stayed at. It would take me several pages to state the ills of this hotel. I felt bad for booking my family in this hotel, also, for the individuals who has to stay in this property. When you walk around or into the property, safety might be an issue. The condition of the hotel is terrible, I gave the front desk a tour of the room and the multiple things that should be fixed. Ie, no lights in bedroom, light in kitchen inoperable, heating fixtures broken etc. Because of this booking, I will never book with hotels.com The money I paid for this hotel should be refunded.

I would never stay here again the only positive was the young man at the front desk was very professional and helpful. The room wasn't cleaned well, it smelled like weed and it was just a very unpleasant stay.

I was very disappointed with the cleanliness and appearance of the inside of the property. The lobby area smelled of old fried fish. The first room I was placed in was visibly dirty. The cabinets weren’t wiped down and there were gnats flying around. The carpet was very soiled and the tv wouldn’t turn on. There is more but honestly the entire place just needs to be evaluated. Housekeeping and general maintenance is not occurring.

Fridge nor microwave worked floor and sink were dirty black spots on the sheets once I pulled the sheets back unsafe all doors were not locked staff was rude and impolite inconsiderate and the ceiling was leaking in the lobby once I walked in they had towels over the counter and a fish bowl collecting the water and the whole placed reeked I had to keep my window open during the duration of my stay will never book or recommend this place used to be decent now it’s a trash spot

Horrid. Checked in then left. Never entered our room. There was no water at the hotel. The check in season was covered in towels from Leakey pipes (staff was debating whether it was sewage or “ the dishwasher”. There were homeless ppl in the common area hang about outside. Our friends room had cockroaches. The worst hotel I have ever not stayed at. Utterly disgusting and very unsafe.

Upon arrival someone was in lobby having a issue with being canceled and not knowing upon his arrival. As I entered my booked room the covers were pulled back as if someone had just got out of bed. There was a hanger randomly on the wall. The towels in bathroom were bunched up as if they were used to dry their hands off. When I made the hotel attendant aware he told me he could give me a bed set but I would have to change the sheets myself due to them being booked for the night and I was just driving through as I was on vacation. I was not happy at all
