    Kentucky Hotel Guide

Horse racing may have been the first thing that came to mind when you thought about making reservations for Kentucky hotel packages. That is because it is the home of the world-famous Kentucky Derby. Horses are a big industry in this horse lover's paradise. However, there is much more to Kentucky than horse racing.

Wild Turkey and The Woodford Reserve are just two of the many distilleries that offer bourbon tasting tours. Bourbon tasting is such a large part of Kentucky's heritage that a Kentucky Bourbon Festival is held each year in Bardstown. Step back to the pre-historic age at Big Bone Lick State Historic Site where you will get a glimpse of natural beauty mixed with dinosaur bones. Historians believe that dinosaurs were attracted to the area because of the salt licks surrounding the sulfur springs in the region. Reserve Kentucky hotels in this area if you want to explore the many nature trails within the park.

Kentucky is part of what is considered the "Bible Belt". This spirit is carried through with projects such as state-of-the-art facilities at the Creation Museum. The museum is located in Petersburg, Kentucky. The museum includes a beautiful petting zoo on the outside perimeters of the property. You will have the opportunity to see a comprehensive number of displays that tell the stories of the Bible throughout the corridors of the massive building.

Kentucky is known for its expansive rolling green hills that provide a backdrop for an awe-inspiring view. It is the birthplace of traditional blue grass music. The state was home to President Jefferson Davis, and Abraham Lincoln was born and raised in Knob Creek where you can still tour his famous childhood home. There is a wealth of American, Native American, and pre-historic interests that will teach and entertain you.

    "Ok A/C"
Room was bright, warm when we got in (80). Shut the drapery, turned air on max (68), and went to dinner at the Rivue (excellent!). Upon returning from a two hour dinner, room had only cooled a bit (77). Stayed at that temperature until well after the sun went down and we were sleeping. Still only got to (73). Maybe upgrade the A/C unit to handle the size of the room and the elevation of the room. Otherwise everything was stupendous. Great hotel, right in the middle of everything with great views of the river.

"Nice place, close to Newport aquarium and food"
We enjoyed our stay here. The indoor pool is very slightly heated so it's not freezing but it's still really cold. Our stay was pretty good other than the random phone call to our room at 3am which woke our toddler up. Continental breakfast was ok, a lot of variety, typical breakfast. We went back to our room to pack up after breakfast and housekeeping arrived around 9:30am. We answered the door and let them know we weren't done yet. When I was taking some of our bags to our car the housekeepers were outside talking very badly about my husband because he answered the door instead of just yelling GO away! I found that very rude and off putting. I let them know if they're going to talk about guests they probably shouldn't do it in front of other guests, especially since she was referring to my husband. The other staff members were nice and accommodating.
