    French Polynesia Hotel Guide

Paris may be known as the world’s most romantic city, but French Polynesia certainly makes hearts skip a beat. Situated in the South Pacific, this enchanting island chain boasts a slew of well-known destinations, and its volcanic vistas and coral-fringed waters are straight out of a Hollywood love story. Discover the mountains of Moorea. Bask in the scenery of Paul Gauguin’s beloved Hiva Oa. Trust us: If you’re searching for a romance-filled getaway, hotels in French Polynesia are your tickets to paradise.

    Society Islands

When travellers set their sights on French Polynesia, they typically search for hotel rooms in this archipelago. It’s no wonder; with first-class destinations like Tahiti, Bora Bora, and Huahine, the Society Islands are among the area’s most luxurious places to stay.

Of course, each island has a distinct atmosphere. Looking for the ultimate South Pacific experience? Search for cheap hotel deals in French Polynesia locations like Tahiti and Moorea. These destinations offer the perfect combination of breathtaking scenery and laid-back local life, and you’ll be in a fantastic spot to ferry-hop around the surrounding islands.

Prefer a more hushed hideaway? Book an overwater bungalow on the shores of Bora Bora. This secluded island is the best place to relax under the shade of a swaying palm, sneak a peek at multicoloured fish in the tropical lagoon or browse black-pearl necklaces in the locally owned shops. Don’t be discouraged by the prices; though Bora Bora’s rates tend to be on the higher side, you might just find a cheap French Polynesia hotel deal at one of the top beachfront resorts.

    Marquesas Islands

Serene waterfalls, enormous tiki structures, majestic peaks: There’s a reason Paul Gauguin used the Marquesas as inspiration for his vibrant paintings. Perched in the chain’s northeastern edge, this small collection of islands is characterized by its otherworldly landscapes, and the area’s best French Polynesia hotels let you bask in all the natural beauty. Book discount reservations in Nuku Hiva for a glimpse at its bays, valleys, and religious sites, or purchase one of Hiva Oa’s French Polynesia hotel packages to explore the famously wild landscape and ancient petroglyphs. Just be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the area’s special woodcarvings; Marquesans are known for their intricate craftsmanship, and these designs adorn everything from plates to statues.

Whether you’re planning a romantic trip to the Huahine hills or want to kick back on the beaches of Bora Bora, French Polynesia hotel deals offer everything you need to fall in love with this island paradise. Get ready, globetrotters: Your next tropical escape is waiting.

    "Got the view Matisse painted."
At first we were skeptical, but the place grew on us. If you want North American standards, go to the big hotels out of town. If you want an authentic Papeete experience stay here. Ask for an outside corner room for an amazing view of Moorea. Ignore the main street--you won't hear it after hours. Lobby is a breezeway; you have to turn on your room's air conditioner. Speaking French helps with the front desk staff but they try hard. Great location, if you are interested in the downtown. Easy walks to supermarkets. If you want golf and private beaches go to the big hotels. Lovely parks in three directions, shopping everywhere. If you want golf and private beaches, go to the big hotels instead. Acquaintances of ours who did so somewhat regretted not having our location here for at least part of the time on island.

We stayed in an overwater horizon bungalow. Room was spotless on our arrival and was cleaned meticulously each day. Food and beverages were great although quite expensive. Staff on the whole were pleasant and provided good service. Great recreational equipment for hotel guests use. Fantastic views from our private deck.

"Decent for a low cost option"
We stayed at the Maitai at the end of June. We we only stayed there two nights, so for the amount of time it was fine. We had several issues that dampened our stay. 1) The hotel was supposed to arrange transportation to Viatape for the Heiva celebration so our arrival and quick departure for our dinner reservations would be seemless. While they fixed the issue, the language barrier was difficult. 2) the breakfast, if not included in your room rate, is $25 pp and not really good. While we always expect insects when the food in Bora Bora is open to the outside, many of the items had ants all over them. 3) Our lunch at their beachfront restaurant was tasty, however, they fought my husband and I the wrong drinks, charged us for water they never brought, and charged us for an extra burger. 4) Our final bill was also incorrect and had to be fixed. 5) The rooms are very dated, and the sun rises on that side of the island, so there is only sun on the beach after lunch , in between the trees. What we did like about the resort was: 1) Great location in Matira Beach. Close proximity to two small grocery stores, and also within walking distance to a couple of reasonably priced restaurants. 2) Grounds are well kept. 3) Bed was very comfortable. 4) Good pricing for Bora Bora hotel. 5) Concierge was very helpful.

We loved every bit of our stay here. The snorkeling and water recreation here was very nice and easily accessible. The best snorkeling I've ever experienced! We could play table tennis, paddle board, and rent all of this for a reasonable amount of time and money. It was quite a spectacular place to have a honeymoon! Food was tasty and full of variety!

    "Best Honeymoon EVER"
The resort was beautiful. The staffs were excellent specially one specific staff member by the name of Tieva, he was amazing and always in the best mood. He would go above and beyond his job description to make sure all guests were happy (ex: he even climbed the tree to get us fresh coconut so we could drink the water). Everything was amazing. Everyone was so happy and pleasant to be around. The location of the resort was the most convenient compare to other resorts. It located right in downtown of the island; therefore it was all within walking distance to everything. We were on our honeymoon and we were able to do so much such as walking down to try different local restaurants, shopping, and walking around the island to enjoy the view. It was safe and beautiful everywhere you go. Also we really enjoyed how they offered kayaks, stand-up paddle boards and snorkeling gear all free of charge, unlike the other resorts where you had to pay to use all equipment.
