Perfect hotel, perfect location

Right next to Laurimer Square, this was the perfect hotel for my quick trip to Denver. The staff was very friendly and extremely accommodating. I would stay her again!

A little problem with the valet service, but the hotel took care of it. Positive experience.

Great, stylish hotel near Larimer Square

Posted 12-Jan-2015
Location: Downtown Denver, central to Larimer Square, Union Station, Oceanaire across street has a great happy hour.
We loved the Teatro. There is a big fireplace in the Lobby where you can sit all hours of the day. Breakfast is served in this library too. Staff is helpful and friendly. Comfortable rooms with lots of horizontal/desk type space. Large bathroom. Great old/large windows. We even extended our stay. Loved it!

Very nice place to stay in downtown Denver

Posted 5-Jan-2015
Pros: The decor and elegance of the old building. Comfort of the room.
Cons: Refrigerator in the room and happy hour in the bar.
Location: We had brunch at the Sassafras and it was excellent.
This hotel is really very pretty and elegant. They did a nice job of remodeling the hotel. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. The bedding was top rate and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The only thing I would improve is the water pressure but I guess that is an understood trade off for an older hotel with lots of charm and elegance. Also, it would be nice to have a small refrigerator in the room. Also, the bar area, called the library was so comfy and inviting with a large fireplace and comfy chairs. However, they did not have a cocktail hour. So disappointing as we had a group of friends meeting us there and we could have stayed longer but the drinks were on the expensive tab. I think they could have a large crowd for cocktails if they had a happy hour. As it was, we were the only people in there.

Outstanding downtown Denver hotel

Posted 31-Dec-2014
Pros: The room, the bar, the restaurant, the perpetual buzz in the lobby. It was busy there for a reason.
Cons: Lower the overnight parking fees. Add more electrical outlets in the rooms. Fix the mobile phone chargers in the nightstands (cool feature, though).
Location: There were many restaurants within walking distance. Just walking downtown was fun, as it was busy. The 7/11 across the street was convenient.
The room was lovely. The tub beckoned to be soaked in. I couldn't wait to get in.

Not a good match for me

Posted 28-Dec-2014
Pros: Comfortable bed. Nice decor. They have a car that will take you anywhere within 2 miles (subject to the hotel's discretion). Cheerful employees.
Cons: The charging station next to the bed and the phone in the bath should be repaired or removed, I expected more convenience and service at this level.
Location: This is the downtown theater district. Check out what is playing and get tickets. Restaurants, museums, etc are all walking distance also.
When I spoke of this hotel to Denver-ites during my week's stay, I got the response "Oh yeah, the dog one" or something similar. No problem. I have dogs at home. Good to know for next time, I think. But then little annoying things started happening. 1) No water or mini-bar. They provide two bottles of water the first night. But I stayed six nights. It would have been nice to have had water throughout my stay. Even for a charge. There is an empty refrigerator in the room. I suppose they expect people to go shopping and stock it for themselves. If so, then the room rate should be lower. You cannot run a hotel in a downtown area as if it were a Super 8, at least not for very long. 2) No turndown service. No ice unless you ask, no extras, minimal service. The kids that work there are all extremely sweet, but this is a policy problem. Or a training issue. Or both. 3) No included breakfast. There is a Keurig in the room but no go cups. I went to the restaurant to get a coffee to go. I gave the a cashier a 5 for the $3.50 price, She gave me a dollar back and walked away. I decided to let it go because I probably would have given her the $.50 anyway. I just like it to be my idea. 4) On the way out, a large dog in the restaurant lunged at me. But he is there every day and I'm the stranger, so it is understandable from the dog's perspective. 5) Low quality toiletries. Bring your own shampoo. I expected better.

Quaint quiet luxury in the heart of downtown

Posted 27-Dec-2014
From the friendly staff to the decoration the vibe at Teatro it was easy to fall in love with this spot. The rooms are clean, the good was good, and the staff helped us to pick the best spots in the Denver area. I would stay here every time I visit Denver.
