“Great stay!”

We stayed at Holiday Hill during the Memorial Day weekend 2011, and have nothing but good things to say. We were there for a soccer tournament for my 10-yr old & between him, my 8-yr old daughter & my 5-yr old son, we all had a great time. The rooms were nice enough - recently carpeted - comfortable, and spacious. The outdoor pool was open on Day 1 of Memorial Day weekend & heated. We all had a beautiful swim after a long day at soccer. In addition, right across the parking lot is 1) an indoor arcade w/ bumper cars, 2) a mini golf course & 3) an ice cream shop. We all had a blast on the bumper cars! Although we didn't have the time for mini golf or ice cream, the kids were dying to do it! Looked very fun & we are all looking forward to visiting again....even without the soccer tourney!

“Love Dover Beach Hotel ;-)”

I love this hotel because the staff are wonderful, friendly, helpful and warm. It has a perfect location that is accessible to nightlife but quiet and out of the way. A beautiful beach is adjacent and the deck is gorgeous and comfortable. The room was plenty big enough and I loved having a fridge, stove, dishes, pots and pans available. The only drawback to the room was the bed could have been more comfy-even a comfy mattress pad/foam or feather bed would have done the trick. Without air conditioning, it was also a bit musty. But it was clean and smelled fresh with the daily floor washing. I traveled solo and felt safe on my own. Security at night was the best (Leston was always keeping an eye out and made sure I was safely escorted to my room which was away from the main building). Activities coordinator, Mary, went out of her way to assist and she was fun just to talk with. Stephanie sells her jewelry near the lobby and is helpful but never push and offered some beautiful fun jewelry for souvenirs or me...mostly me!! I love it. Friendly safe and gorgeous locaton. I recommend it highly!

“Disappointing”

Our room reaked with a chemical smell that was either the result of the carpet having been recently shampooed (it was clean), or some kind of spray to cover a mildew smell. I should have asked to be moved. I would say that the front-desk staff were extremely courteous & helpful.

“Not impressed”

The parking and pool areas are shabby. The pillows are uncomfortable and the color of the bathroom fixtures do not match (pink and white). In addition, the caulking around the tub is messy, but the shower itself is very good. The management needs to make ice and breakfast available to their guests as do other hotel or motels. The management needs to give some attention to the esthetic aspects of the shrubs and trees around the pool area. A line of trees between the miniature bumper car track and the motel parking would be a welcome addition. The street sign in front of the hotel is uninviting.
