Desperately poor experience, never again Posted 12-Jan-2015
I'm comfortable with budget hotels, but I checked out after just one night (of a scheduled 3) in this place. I would never stay here again. Everything in the hotel is in a state of disrepair. If you are planning a visit, be warned that: 1. Your room door may have a broken chain-lock. I had to ask to get this fixed in both the rooms I stayed in (I had a room-change just a few hours after moving in). Just before I finally checked out, I returned to my room to collect my bags and found the door unlocked & open. Housekeeping seemed totally unconcerned and said 'someone' may have 'forgotten' to shut the door after cleaning the room. On this front alone, I'd never again stay in the hotel and would never recommend it to women travelling alone. 2. There is no functioning internet on the 1st floor despite the promised 'free wifi' 3. The rooms are airless. Aircon didn't seem to work in either room. Windows do not open. Good luck breathing. Perhaps because of the poor ventilation, the rooms smell musty. 4. There is hot water only from 5am to 10am. Hot water after these hours has to be requested via a call to the front desk. The 'hot water' I experienced at 7:30am was tepid at best. 5. Breakfast is cold, oily food in another airless room. A simple order of black coffee was unavailable. Complaints to the manager before early check out were met with defensiveness & disregard. Example: "Foreign women who are more sensitive don't seem to have a problem." Classy. Never again.
