“Acceptable, close to the airport but look out when they over charge you to get back to the airport”
The Hotel was nice with a clean nice room and attached toilte. The Check in staff were nice and coureous. They do not have a breakfast room but breakfast was delivered to my room and very promptly. I did not have any other meals at the hotel. The only negative comment i have is that they treid to charge me twice the going rate for a cab back to the airport. Need;ess to say i diod not take up there offer and I got a cab out the front of the hotel for the regular fare. The hotel is perfect for a overnight stay near the airport. There was little to no aircraft noise in my room even though we were a 5 - 10 minute travel to the airport.
“Flat screen TV...not make up for cold room, unpleasant service and no hot water”
Although this hotel was clean and convenient to the airport and has mod cons such as flat screen tvs, good double glazing (as beside busy highway), the attitude of the night staff, no hot water coupled with a cold room (I know this is standard in North India in the winter) undermined what otherwise would have been a good choice for our last night before flying out the next day. The price was meant to include break fast which did arrive as 2 pieces of buttered toast and warm coffee. The day staff on check out did seem to be more professional though.
“For these conditions, stay at a hostel”
Our room had evidently not been cleaned in months. The sheets were dirty, the pillow case had clearly been recently slept upon by some unwashed and hirsute individual, and the duvet featured both unidentifiable yellow stains, and more readily identifiable blood stains. We asked to change sheets, and the bellhop complied immediately. However, when he removed the old ones, we noticed behind the bed, some kleenex, a cigarette butt, a great deal of dust, and one of the largest hairballs I have ever seen. We asked to change rooms. The second room was better, but still had stained sheets and piles of dust. We waited while they cleaned it. Although a major improvement in terms of cleanliness, we found out later that the shower did not work properly. By this time we were too tired to address the issue. On the plus side, the staff was responsive, and the state of the hotel is probably not entirely their fault. The flat screen TV appears to be new, and the free wireless is what I am using to write this review. Overall, though, best to give this one a miss.
“Hotel Venus - Poor Experience”
Hotel Venus - overall, for 3 star was of a poor standard compared to other like hotels in the area. We were warmly welcomed at Reception, the serving staff were very courteous and could not do enough for you. However, they are let down by the poor infrastructure and lack of good management by senior staff. Our room had no hot water, the bedding was stained, the walls have dirt marks, the electrical sockets 3 out of 5 sockets did not work. The bedside lamp was without a bulb. After complaining, we were moved to [supposedly] a better room. The only improvement was that we had hot water. Although the bed linen did not have stains, it had holes due to wear and age. The white bath towels had a Grey and old look about them, much like the bed linen. There aren't spa baths as advertised. The management staff try every opportunity to over-charge us. Taxis booked through the hotel were grossly over-priced compared to local taxis outside the hotel. I urge Expedia to remove this hotel off their list, if I could, I would have checked-out into a neighboring 3-star hotel hotel nearby. All in all, a poor hotel experience.
“Never again”
Although the map shows a location about 500 yards away the hotel is located directly at the Delhi - Jaipur highway. It is a extremely loud and filthy hotel. I was told the pick-up charge from the airport is INR 300, they charged me INR500.
