dont stay here
the bad: arrived at midnight because our train was 7 hours late and they put us in their other hotel which they claimed was better than what we booked. Not true, far from the truth! Claimed they didn't have our reservation. Dirty sheets, moldy bathroom, over charged for laundry staff, breakfast was included but we didn't take either of our 2. We took tea and coffe instead and they tried to charge us for it. Water was supposed to be included, charged for them. The seemed like always trying to pull one over on us, not genuine. Good: close to Karol bagh metro station.

walkable distance to the metro station
I liked this hotel mainly because of the 3 mins walk to the closest Metro. I had to shift the rooms 3 times since in each room, either the TV or Mini-Fridge did not work. Breakfast is not bad but it is not buffett style.

Manager Donald is 100% dedicated to all his guests
In India on our own for the first time, we were pretty terrified of what we might get in booking a hostel online - especially when we got into the cab at the Delhi Airport and drove around for two hours because the driver didn't know where it was and didn't speak English! Fortunately, the relief of a lifetime came when we were cordially greeted by the hotel manager Donald and the few dedicated staff at the Hotel Palace Sarthak. The rooms were clean to basic Western standards, WiFi was available on request (very important as an online business owner), and although the food was only available through room service so we never saw the kitchen, it was delicious and incredibly affordable. Of course, we tipped heavily (two dollars can be a day's wage in India, so we would happily hand out 100 rupees for any task) and were taken incredibly good care of. My partner also got sick and unfortunately had to spend a couple days in hospital on an IV drip, and Donald and the hotel were 100% there for us - they stored our excess luggage, didn't charge us anything extra at all, and even came and visited my partner in hospital to see how he was doing. The only qualm I had was with the location, which is a sort of marketplace dirt roads sort of suburb a little bit away from the Westernised area of Delhi - but it held its delights. Overall, an excellent service that, if I ever came to visit India again, I wouldn't hesitate for a second.

While this hotel was adequate I'd never return. The water in the shower was either scalding or freezing. The room itself was rather cold - I know it was cold outside, but I expected some sort of optional heat. Convenient to the metro, but otherwise not the best location for tourists. For the price I know I could have done better in Delhi and wish I had. Customer service at the desk was great, but dealing with the bellhops and room service was a nightmare. Lastly, we never got a good night sleep because there were loud, construction-like noises beginning around 3 am every night. In the end I am rather disappointed.

not worth it, pictures decieving
the front desk mamnger was first rude and was insisting on a double payment even though i had alreay been charged and had a confirmation threw hotels.com. there are soooo many better spots for a tenth of the price! not a good neighborhood, very dirty and as a woman felt unsafe at sunset. front desk not helpful. oly the servie guy was very kind. i regret spending more then 2 bucks there!

Hotel Sarthak Palace in Karol Bagh
