“Nice Hotel next to major highway”

The hotel/ inn was nicely located next to a major Florida highway. My room was nice. The weather was a bit too cold to use the lovely outdoor swimming pool though. My one suggestion would be to put a small refrigerator in each room. I like to drink cold milk and fruit juice in the morning. Sometimes a cold beer at night is OK too. There is a modestly nice bar/ restaurant right next to the hotel though.

“Hidden gem near Daytona Beach”

Located between De Land and Daytona Beach just off I-4 on a rural road, this motel was an amazing find. During Biketoberfest, motel rates in Daytona Beach are very high. The Expedia price for this place was about half of those rates, and this is a high quality motel. Doc's, the motel's lounge, turned out to be renowned in the area as a gathering place. I enjoyed the free live bands on the outdoor stage set up for the festival on a large grassy area near the motel. The acoustics were such that when I got tired, I was able to go back to the room to sleep without the music keeping me up. There's an outdoor pool, a game room with pool tables, and a spacious bar. During race weeks or bike weeks, when the Daytona Beach rates go up, this is a good place to consider, or anytime if the price is right. It has a congenial atmosphere.

“Go 2 HoJo's in Deland”

At first we were worried when we saw it was "Biker Night" at the Motel's Restaurant. And we could hear music from the bar in the lobby when we checked in. But the manager put us in a nice, quiet room on the other side of the motel. He even offered to help carry our bags! Very nice, friendly place with a great pool.

“The staff made the visit special”

The management has excellent staff who are very service oriented and friendly. The rooms are recently remodeled and nice for lower end motel. Some areas of the hotel itself are worn and in need of repair. Unfortunately, nonsmoking rooms do have a left over residue smell, which can be overcome with deodorizer.

Hotel was clean and staff was very friendly, had some bugs in the room but thats expected in florida, the staff took care of it quickly.

“Florida's step back in time”

The HoJo in Deland is definately a blast from the past. It is old but they are trying to maintain a cleanliness, friendliness and safe enviornment for the traveller. In Central Florida amid the condo's, freeways and retirees, this is a nice, out of the way place to sit back and relax. Do not expect the 5 star amenities, but if you want to relax (perhaps not swim) this is a great place. The breakfast will get you going, but do not count on not needing a boost before lunch (cereal, toast and fruit are the standard). Great friendly front desk and maintainance people.

“Good for business stopover”

Our room was clean, needing a makeover. one or two wear holes in the comforter. Brkfst was meager. Staff was very friendly and accomodateing. Great shower really hot water. Stay for a night or two but not for a vacation. We would go back on business but not pleasure.

“Not impressed”

The hotel was just OK but inconveniently located several miles from restaurants. A restaurant providing breakfast was advertized but there was only a bar/restaurant open at night so we had to travel to find a breakfast place. The hotel's complimentary "breakfast " was powdered doughnuts and boxed cereal.
