“quick and easy”

Great location, 5 min tops from the airport which made it perfect to catch an early morning flight out. Staff sent a cab for me who was waiting holding a sign with my name which was perfect! No brainer. Staff also replied to emails I sent with questions which was great. A perfect place when you are just jumping flights. Thank you!

“Fine for a stop over”

My wife and I used the Transit Hotel for a stopover at the beginning and end of our break. It was pleasant and is convenient for the airport. The neighbourhood is very much for locals, but we felt safe enough, and the road is not designed for dragging or pulling suitcases along, but you can walk to the airport in 10-15 minutes or get a taxi which the hotel arranged for us for few dollars. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable, with good, quiet A/C. There is also a light breakfast included in the price. It is a very reasonable and convenient option if you have arrived late at night or have to leave early in the morning. Much closer to the airport and cheaper than other hotels in Dar.

“Best for an overnight stay between flights”

Arriving late at night into Dar Es Salaam from Europe, taking the short (5 minute) taxi ride over bumpy roads through a poor neighbourhood is a bit unerving. Soon you arrive at the Hotel and it is gated and you do feel safe. So long as you do not expect a lot the Hotel serves its purpose. Luxurious it is not. Fixtures are old but functional. The Hotel was clean enough.There is a quaint small Bar in the centre that serves drinks, food and also the (included) breakfast. Food was inexpensive. Staff was friendly and helpful. Contact the Hotel ahead of time and they will arrange a Taxi Pickup at the Airport (cost UD$5). If you need an overnight stay between flights then this is the place. Alternative would be a 35 minute drive into downtown Dar Es Salaam.

“Handy for airport, let down by a number of things”

Room was next to extremely loud club/sound system, it eventually stopped at 0230 (Sunday morning). Room had mosquitos...no knock down spray provided. Nets had rips, I repaired with tape. Desk light coming loose from wall, and had no light bulb in. No top sheet on bed, I used my sleeping bag liner. Sink did not drain properly, and tap was very loose on sink. There was a line of small ants moving between the window and the aircon unit. However, the place was pretty clean, as were the towels. The staff sorted out my taxi arrangements with no problems. Can't say I got much sleep. Most problems (apart from the noise) could have been easily sorted at low cost
