“Great, Inexpensive stay!”
Easy access to Boston and Salem, just 15-20 minutes from each. Several strip malls close by. Very kind hosts too. The complimentary breakfast was good variety too, don't expect anything beyond grains, just bagels, pastries, cereal, etc. Great and simple stay.
“Oldie, but goodie”
Older hotel, but very clean. Plan on staying again in the future.
“Excellent hotel”
We were very pleased with our hotel. The rooms were clean. There was a small continental breakfast and the pool was very clean. The hotel was only 7 miles from Salem and was on a direct path to Boston. Clean and quiet. The price we paid was amazing.
“"Great Hotel"”
The hotel was great. It was quite large with two queen beds and very clean. The maid service was very good and the hotel was very accommodating. The first night our TV remote would not work. The maintenance man was there in a matter of minutes and reprogrammed the remote. The continental breakfast was ok but we were surprised even to have one offered since the price of the room was exceptional. The hotel is closely situated to all the area. Rockport was only a 20 minute drive. The hotel staff at the desk was very nice and the one manager even printed us out directions to get to our first destination. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone. My friend and I are planning to use this hotel again when we go back.
“We'll be back soon”
We didn't expect much for the price but were very pleasantly surprised. The desk clerk was genuinely warm and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. This is an older property so don't expect the Ritz, but if you're looking for an inexpensive, safe, clean, and comfortable motel in the Salem area this is it. Ask for a room on the side away from I-95 for a quieter sleep. Bonus: this motel is on the 100 acres puchased by John Putnam in 1641. John was the immigrant ancestor of the Salem Village (Danvers) Putnam Family which was prominant in the Witch Hysteria of 1692. The Israel Putnam (Rev .War General) Home is nearby on the farm.
“Staff was outstanding”
I couldn't have been happier with my stay. The room was nice size and comfortable! You can't beat this place for the price. Thank you to the staff as they couldn't have been friendlier!
“Needed a break”
I expected very basic accomodations and hoped for clean. Well exceeded my expectation. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was bagels, cheerios juice, muffins and coffee. All very good. Grounds very nice, pool looked great although we did not use due to stromy conditions. Staff handled all request quickly and pleasantly.. local resturant walking distance. Our destination was Salem about 15 min. away.
“Good Hotel”
Hard to find but nice to stay in
“Great staff, great value, will stay again”
I've stayed here before and will again when I'm in the area. The staff is friendly and accomodating, the hotel is clean and well-maintained, and provides easy access to travel around the North Shore area. This isn't a five-star hotel, so don't expect one. It is, however, clean, neat, comfortable, easily accessible and staffed by incredibly polite and helpful folks. The continental breakfast is plentiful, if not highly varied - coffee, juice, cereal, muffins and bagels. The rooms are clean, the decor more comfortable than "ugly hotel standard" , the sheets are crisp and the beds are comfortable. I consider this hotel to be a great value and look forward to staying again.
“Great value, great people, convenient location!”
This is a conveniently placed hotel to visit the North Shore area - Danvers, Salem, Peabody, Beverly et al. The staff helped me get into my room hours before check-in and continued to be wonderful throughout my stay. I was caught up in the late March 2010 flooding, and couldn't get the train out of Boston on my appointed day. They very kindly helped me to book the additional day at the best rate possible, giving me the comfort to deal with the rental car and train, which were in flux from hour to hour, and threatening my budget. Thankfully, Amtrak re-routed some trains so I only had to extend my stay an extra day. This is not a four star hotel, but the staff certainly is. It is quiet, comfortable and convenient; I've stayed before and will again. Highly recommended.
