I made my reservation the day before I was supposed to check in. When I got to the property, I was told that they could not honor the reservation because for the past several days they had issues with the plumbing and we weren’t able to wash towels or sheets. They were not answering the phone either.
Instead of not taking reservations when they knew they had problems, they booked mine anyway. When I asked the manager why I was not called that day to let me know, they could not on the reservation, he told me the owner was not allowing him call the guests.
The manager told me he would take care of my refund through Expedia. I had booked a nonrefundable reservation, but I was not the one to cancel. The general manager did not do this. Expedia was kind enough to investigate my claim, and then they gave me the refund.
All in all, this situation could have, and should have been avoided.
