Walked in the lobby an I just got a great feeling about the hotel. The I got to the room and was amazed. It doesn't look or feel like the traditional hotels. It's a more modern feel. I enjoyed my stay there.
The bright spot of an otherwise horrible trip was my hotel at the Hawthorne Suites. The weather got cold, rainy, windy, I got rained on and got very sick with either extreme allergies or a severe cold. Despite the personal bad experience, the hotel was the shining bright spot and an incredible value. I paid for what I expected to be a small suite, turned out to be a huge two story style loft suite with a fireplace. Which was great considering I spent almost two days unable to move curled up on the couch or one of the two comfy beds. It was very clean and well maintained. The place isn't new or perfect but in great shape and a ridiculous value for the room, comfort and amenities you get for the price. It simply can't be beat. It was only me on this trip but highly recommend for those traveling with more than one.
After a week of staying in not-so-great-but-cheap hotels, I was blown away when I walked into my hotel room. It was amazing - and for such a low price! Room was huge, had a kitchen with a full sized fridge, oven, and dishwasher, large couch, workspace, very comfortable bed. It was close to the size of the condo I live in! The heat in my room went out, but the hotel staff were very apologetic and kind and quickly moved me to another room of equal greatness. I seriously considered cancelling my upcoming hotels in other towns in order to stay here longer. Felt like I should be entertaining guests here. Lots of selection for breakfast and close to any restaurant you could want. I am already planning on staying here the next time I'm nearby. Couldn't recommend it enough.
the overall experience was great. we added a breakfast to our package, which proved to be a great value. The breakfast buffet had enough selection, but the lamps that were to keep the food hot were keeping the food hot. But our scramble eggs were dried out from the lamp, but not hot.
Good quality hotel, room of average to small size (queen bed double), e.g. no chairs or desk to work at. Experience greatly enhanced by the free benefits of breakfast, free drinks hour, milk and cookies late evening and free wireless, hence the 'excellent' rating.
Really impressed with the hotel and location. The staff were incredible with their local recommendations. You were able to walk to all attractions and the AA centre. Very highly recommended. The room was spacious, clean and very well maintained.
We stayed at The Melrose for the night. We enjoyed the room, our drink in the Library, and ur breakfast. Leon got us to our dinner destination and we were within walking distance to many other locations.
