The property is a bit old and location is a bit hard to find and not located in an area where you can go shopping or sightseeing.

Location! Location! We walked to the museum, Marche kermel to shop and visited other properties for lunch and spa. The beach is really nice outside the back door.

First trip to Senegal
Generally the hotel was clean and well located. The rooms are a decent size and the pool is nice. The absence of a gym was a surprise and means I won’t return. The staff were also quite abrupt, almost rude. Breakfast is expensive.

The staff were so lovely and kind and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were average but mostly clean and neat. The food was amazing and buying the breakfasts all in was the best decision we made. All in all this is a lovely little hotel which felt very safe and was comfortable, relaxed and friendly.

I am a fan of the Novotel at Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok so I had high hopes. This is among the most expensive hotels in Dakar yet the food service is cafeteria quality ..not up to restaurant standards ..and yet much more expensive than comparable hotels around Dakar. On arriving I was told my room included breakfast so I had the buffet. At checkout this was denied and they insisted I pay a very inflated price for the buffet I would not have taken if not for the statement of their employee. I complained vigorously but amazingly they would not own up to their own mistake. Do not waste you money at this old tired overpriced hotel with terrible service.

There was a high level event in Dakar this week. Hotel was fully booked by very demanding guests, leaving early and coming back after 8pm. Hotel team was up to the situation and even organise fine music in bar at pool area. Kudos to them! I read complaints on forums, hotel is OK, maybe Dakar is not for you. Great metropolis in making.

Please change the carpets in the rooms
I was given the choice to get either a room with carpet or laminated floor, carpet was very old not so clean. That needs to be changed. Laminated floor was pretty new.

Where to start. They dont have their own airport transfer. When I asked to arrange they just gave me a local number. No one to carry out your luggage from your car. Took forever to give the room. By the way prices at which I booked at the agent website was different than the prices at the hotel. So they charged me extra. The room they gave me was like stains on WC. Towels lying on the floor. Used paper tissues all over. They changed my room when I blasted on them. Went to the bar. It took 50 mns for a sandwich. And when I decided to go in my room asked the waiter to provide the sandwich there. It took me 3 hours and so many calls to get that sandwich in my room. By the way delivered stale sandwich. Wont recommend this hotel to anyone.

In general, it was ok. Likes: bfast buffet was good, drinks and food were good value Don't Likes: extremely slow service ( like they are trying to avoid you), and can't get any fresh air in the rooms (windows blocked) so air in the room is stale and does not smell to great. Took room with 2 single beds and they were hard as rocks..

Good hotel. Clean, safe and comfortable.
I stayed here for 5 nights with several colleagues attending a conference and we had a good stay. Rooms are clean and well-appointed with comfortable beds and good showers. Bar, breakfast and food were all excellent, if a little pricey. There are lots of good reataurants, a little tourist market and a good supermarket within a 10 minute walk. The hotel has very good, but friendly, security staff. My favourite thing was the outside bar area and the pool. The pool was very clean, nice temperature and the pool attendant was so lovely and really helpful. I would definitely recommend the Novotel.

Their breakfast buffet has several hot items, and enjoyable. The staff all seem to be very helpful. You can walk to several places to eat, stores for water-pop-and snacks, and local market. Be prepared to pay 20.000CFA ($38USD) from the airport (DSS) to hotel. The hotel had one of the best money exchange rates during my stay. I was surprise to find it hard to exchange US Dollars at the bank, but the Novotel rate was on par. If you haggle, the cabs located at the hotel, are not costly, but if you don't speak French, do your best to make sure the driver understands the place you want to go. There are many people in the Kemel market that can, and will speak English very well. If you try, most vendors will accept the US Dollar, or Euro. If you have Euro, the exchange rate is better. On my next visit I will consider the Novotel first.

PAS IMPORTANT
The hotel was fine but the room service was very poor. I requested an iron on 3 occasions to iron my shirt but they did not deliver to the room as promised. Also the safe in the room did not work. When I asked for an engineer to come and fix, again they noted it but never did anything about it.

Convenient, well placed with good amenities
All is good, there is the pool and the music at night when you want to relax and the wifi when you want to work. It's a Novotel, not a Pullmann, so the room is good, not outstanding but the view on the sea is !

Hotel is in a very good location
Hotel has good reception area, bar, restaurant, terrace. Unfortunately the corridors are dated and the rooms are disappointing. The rooms reflect a cheap hotel, basic beds, austere comforts and a plastic bathroom unit stuck in one corner. Towels had seen better days. Its such a shame as the food was great, terrace pleasant, staff terrific and in such a good location. Simply there are better hotels in Dakar for the price

This Hotel needs to freshen up
The carpeting of the hotel is old and creates a disappointing feel. My room did not have soap and when I called House Keeping and reception to request for soap the phones were never taken. It appears only Room Service picks up calls.

I have stayed here on numerous occasions. On the plus is the outside courtyard, with bar, lounge and pool facilities. However while the lobby and reception and courtyard areas have been refurbished, more contemporary (although a bit too busy with too many chairs), the rooms are not so great. Clean, but carpets are old and therefore looks dirty. Single sheets on beds instead of two, and very low bedding.

It's a good property the location and service is excellent . Breakfast is decent. The evening lounge and the outdoor pool side sitting is really one loves the ambience is such I don't feel spending the evening and night all in the hotel it self. Rooms are standard as per Novotel world wide . On the whole good experience. Vegetarians will have bit of issue with limited menu in the hotel , but then one is free to order outside food .
