“I forgot service like this still existed!”
Hotel Monasterio is now my favorite hotel in the world. It is the perfect combination of location, service, ambiance and modern amenties. The hotel itself is even better than the pictures. The location is close the main square but not on it. Our room was a great mix of modern touches and old fashioned charm. But the service was the ultimate winning feature. Traveling without a group in foreign country can be nerve racking. The staff at the Hotel Monasterio made it easy. From the arrival at the airport, to personal day tours, to our introduction to city, to our trip to Machu Picchu... They were amazing.
“Lives up to all the hype, but...”
The Monasterio is all that you've heard: historic, beautiful, and the service is wonderful. Given all that though, if you can only have one or two splurges on this trip I would use it on the Hiram Bingham and Sanctuario because the train trip is just amazing and so much fun with the music in the caboose, and if you want to have extra time to hike around Machu Picchu, then you have a huge advantage staying at the Sanctuario.
“Skiing in the Lap of Luxury”
Can't say anything bad about this experience. Stayed on Concierge Level and must say the food and drink were worth the extra charge. Didn't want to leave.

“Great atmosphere!”
The Monasterio was not only beautiful, the staff was fabulous! Everyone was so helpful and friendly, especially Pedro. We enjoyed every aspect of the hotel!
“Fabulous place to stay in Cusco Peru”
Hotel Monasterio was great: beautiful venue, convenient location, delicious food, superb customer servcie. The hotel is in a converted monastery complete with chapel (that is now used for special events). It is expensive but they deliver an excellent experience. The staff was professional and went out of their way to meet our requests. I highly recommend staying here!
“Would stay there again!”
This is a beautiful old hotel in the heart of Cusco. A perfect location. Close to the main square, nice restaurants, shopping and historical sites. The rooms were clean and charming, and a wonderful breakfast was included. We would definitely stay there again.

Area:
Cusco, Peru: The Old and the New World intersect in Cusco: This fair city was remade in the image of Spain after conquistadors crushed the Inca in the 1500s. This colonial heritage is most evident at the Plaza de Armas, home to three baroque churches. To see the vestiges of the Incas, pass through the bohemian enclave of San Blas in the hills above central Cusco, and head north to the Sacsayhuaman fortress.
