“Charming B&B”

Our first night in the UK and we weren't disappointed. The atmosphere at the B&B was charming, the owners friendly and personable, and the food was above average for a pub meal. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. I definitely recommend String of Horses.

“A Fine Country Inn”

We needed a B&B near Carlisle to start off our Scotland tour. It was straightforward to get to, although the roads close to the hotel were narrow. We arrived in time for an evening meal which was excellent, accompanied by a few brews. The room was predictably on the small size as was the bathroom, but certainly adequate. The location was in a small village next to a farm. Based on the upscale vehicles in the parking lot this hotel is highly regarded. Breakfast was the expected buffet Continental with a cooked breakfast made to order. Didn't leave hungry!
