“Best vacation surprise ever”

Dan (the owner) and all connected with the hotel made our introduction to Mexico a real treat. When you stay here, you stop being a tourist, and are introduced to the true hospitable side of the country. The rooms here are clean & cozy. The hotel is very quite & situated in a very quiet neighborhood. It is right across the street from the Airport, but don't worry, I think there might be 3 flights a day into Cozumel, and we did not hear any of them. The place will strip you of any stress once you walk in the door. Due to its nature, the other guests you will meet are just some of the most fun people. Diego and his family showed us all they could about Mexican culture. (Diego is a good friend of Dan's who runs a small roadside eatery) Diego cooked up the best bit of Mayan food we could find on the Mayan Riviera. (You need to have his lobster special and his Mayan breakfast). We became such good friends with these folks, that on our final few hours in Cozumel. Diego and family stopped by with ice cold beer & presented my wife with a gift to remember them by. (Try getting that at an all inclusive!) Diego's 17 y.o. Son Eric spent a great deal of time with us (He works for Dan and helps his father out in the restaurant). He was very helpful in helping us polish up on some Spanish, and giving us tips on what to see. I will guarantee that once you stay here at Dan's hideaway, you will ask yourself why you ever stayed in an all inclusive, and exposed yourself to cranky tourists!
