Old Hotel

Posted 19-Apr-2014
Pros: Leaving
The hotel needs work. Vent in bathroom had dust and lint that made it look like a chia pet. Bed mattresses sagged, AC unit sounded like a small Briggs engine. TV from Grandma's basement

Clean Rooms and friendly staff

These folks do a good job, they made us feel welcome, the rooms were clean, it was quite and reasonably priced. That was what I wanted and that's what they delivered! Would I stay there again? Absolutely !

:) Short drive to Duke Energy Convention Center

Posted 7-Apr-2014
Pros: I liked the waffles and how accommodating the staff is.
Cons: I would make sure the shower curtains are cleaner. It wasn't too bad, but not fresh.
Location: Fairly close to the Duke Energy Convention Center.
We took a team of 28 college students to Cincinnati for a competition at the Duke Energy Convention Center. It was a fairly short drive into the city from the hotel, but with traffic it can take about 30-40 minutes. The nice thing is that there is plenty of parking in the city. This was a comfortable and affordable place to take this large group. The breakfast was great considering that it was free and included waffles, English muffins, bananas, apples, hot and cold cereal, muffins, toast, and juice. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. I didn’t have any problems with noise. The only thing I would change is that the shower curtain could have been cleaner. Make sure the room refrigerator is turned on if you put anything in it. Mine was plugged in, but it was turned off. I didn’t notice when I put my leftovers in it, so when I went to eat them the next day, the food had gone bad. That was really my fault however for not turning it on. The heat and air worked great. The cable TV was great. The in-room coffee maker was nice to have. The clothes iron and ironing board was handy, and the hair dry was convenient too. The wireless Internet is free and was easy to use. The staff was friendly, and they even let us have meetings in the guest lounge area and a birthday party in the breakfast area. They were very accommodating!! I recommend that you stay here if you are looking for a great deal for the price. I would stay here again.

The hotel was a good value for our money.

Pros: Nice mattresses for a good rest .
Cons: The hotel lobby needs updating.
Location: Not far off the expressway .
We were traveling to Florida and needed 2 rooms for an overnight stay close to the expressway . I was able to book these rooms online and was pleased with our nights stay .

Plain Jane

No frills, but clean and quiet. Can't beat it for price if you only need the room a night or two. Hard to complain.

Just stayed there to sleep

Posted 3-Mar-2014
Pros: Everything I needed was there and more. I wasn't expecting the fridge or the microwave but they were there in case I needed them.
Cons: It's in the process of being renovated according to some signs. It has some areas that show age.
Location: There are a few casinos within an hours drive.
For that price this was an excellent deal. There was a little fridge and microwave in the room. The bed was comfortable and there was coffee, shampoo, conditioner, lotion. soap and a hair dryer in the room. They have a little breakfast in the morning that had waffles, danishes, muffins, juice, coffee, cereal, bread, bananas and apples.

Disappointing Stay

Posted 2-Mar-2014
Cons: Maintenance, Housekeeping.
Location: We were there to visit friends, so we were not there to visit any attractions.
We chose this hotel for its proximity to our destination, however, upon arrival wished we could have gone elsewhere because of the filthiness of the room and lobby. The doors from the lobby to the elevator area were FILTHY. The elevator buttons, FILTHY. Our room, upon first sight seemed fine, but then began to look once we settled in. A layer of dust covered the desk, and inside the bedside tables. This kind of dust doesn't collect overnight. There was even an old bottle cap in the bedside table in full view. Now let's talk about the bathroom. Leaky faucet, and what can I say about the toilet except you have to be VERY careful about flushing it just the right way or it won't flush or it keeps running until you jiggle the handle. Overall, very disappointing and I would have left if not for the hassle of trying to get a refund through Expedia. Lesson learned...never skimp on hotel costs again!
