We were able to walk to the tourist areas in Olbia with lots of shopping and restaurants. We stayed over while waiting to be picked up for a tour and the hotel worked out great since we didn't have a car. Very nice pool. Breakfast was very good also. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Nice hotel, would stay again(without breakfast)
Great staff, especially reception, bar man and room cleaner, very welcoming and friendky. Nice hotel, good location. Breakfast could be better, lack of egg choice( only had watery scrambled eggs) no fresh fried egg, omellete etc, but then again if its included for free, not exoecting much and it did have some choice, but would not pay extra, we went once in 5 days. My main and only negative it the shower cubicle. We had a delux room, the bathroom was good size, but the shower cubile tiny!. I know its common in Sardinia, but with a deluxe room, you would hope for a bigger shower cubicle, kept hitting my self. Good lucky to anyone slightly bigger/wider.

The property is located an easy 10-15 minute walk from the Corso Umberto which is where most restaurants and shops are located/near. The location made our stay very quiet and peaceful, but also it’s not convenient when you can’t be bothered to walk into Olbia or get a taxi. If you dine at the hotel it’s fine, quite pricey but decent portion sizes. It’s €20 each for room service, at dinner we paid €30 for a wine we then found in a shop for €7.50, the servers are lovely and try hard but I think they’re over-stretched handling the restaurant and bar. The breakfast had a decent selection but none of the food really stayed the right temperature - e.g stone cold pancakes and lukewarm yoghurt. The balcony was huge and had a lovely view (at least from our floor), and the room was cleaned and attended to well. Lots of space and towels and amenities within it, can’t complain. The hotel helped us to organise a rental car for a few days and there was also a designated desk to book a taxi service/La Maddalena excursion which was very helpful and a valuable addition. The pictures of the pool I personally felt misrepresented the size, and we had to ask for the jacuzzi bubbles to be turned on - the water itself remained cold. There isn’t any outdoor toilet so you have to dry off and get dressed if you need the facilities. The bars aren’t manned during the day so if you want to drink before 7pm you’ll struggle.

A good spot to stay if you have a rental car and want free parking, however, I would dread when it came to sleeping because I would wake up with mosquito bites all over my body and face every morning. Our room also smelled like cigarettes when we checked in and occasionally after room service- not sure if the staff smokes on the balcony as they clean the room? I personally would not stay here again.

We are sorry if our hotel didn't meet your expectations, but please be informed that we are a city hotel nearby the sea, so during summer it is very common to have mosquitos, even if we do the periodic disinfestation. Stayed in Doubletree hotels in the USA many times, always good, this hotel a bit cut off otherwise very nice and only 10 mins from the airport and a very short taxi ride to restaurants,bars etc.

Very good hotel
We stayed one night, and before arrival we had read many bad reviews about this hotel. Obviously, some people believe that DoubleTree by Hilton, is a Hilton hotel with Hilton standard and service. Then they get disappointed, of course. Our stay was super with large clean rooms. Good beds. The hotel was similar to what you find from good economy in US from same chain.

Our hotel is 6 km away from the airport, 1 km from the port, 900 mt from the city center and about 800 mt from via Aldo Moro and the city park. We wouldn't really consider it a "crap location". For some guests we are the perfect location as there's no traffic or crowd plus about 1.000 squared meters free parking space and just 10 minute walking from the city center. The room was great - clean, new and big. All the facilities we needed were available in the room. That’s the only thing we really liked about the hotel. Breakfast was too basiс. Sometimes it was almost impossible to get coffee, waiters were busy with something else. When we went to the pool we were offered to buy towels for 105 euro each. No towels provided. Strange setup. WiFi was not suitable for stream video. On the positive side - we could use guest bathroom after the checkout. And we even got some towels :)))

This year we must sanitize every single item. Not only cleaning but sanitize which is a very important procedure. And that’s why we apply 5 euro (not 105 as mentioned :) ) for the swimming pool towel giving the guest the chance to waive it upon spending 40 euro (for a couple, for the entire staying) at our F&B outlets. We inform our guests about this procedure upon check in and at the swimming pool too. We really hope to have you as guest in the future here at Doubletree by Hilton Olbia Sardinia! Kind regards

The customer service was excellent, the staff at reception were really helpful and friendly. The only thing we found a little disappointing was the breakfast arrangement, the buffet area was too small for the amount of guests and the food wasn't replenished quickly enough.

Very welcoming staff at the reception and bar, but the breakfast staff had a bad attitude. Waited 25 minutes for an omelette, asked a member of staff and his reply was he didn’t take the order, it’s not his problem. Struggled to get coffee as the coffee machine had run out one morning, again staff did not want to make it for us. Other than this, good comfy room. Bar prices high even for a Hilton!

Good hotel with all you would expect from Doubletree. A bit isolated though with only one third-party restaurant available to walk to without crossing a very busy and smelly road bridge into town.
