A very clean, spacious property in a great location. Reception and restaurant staff are friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous holiday - thank you The private Spa rooms are an added bonus!

Check the hotel doesn't have a football convention
Daytime reception not particularly helpful. Spent 20 minutes driving round trying to find secure parking area later to discover workmen had the gate open so you couldnt see the sign. Nice clean car on entry but muddy when leaving. There was a kids football convention on.we were asjed to use restuarant at specified times which we did. Kids playing football on landing running up and down corridors without masks. In the dining room kids everywhere and not sittibg with teachers.again running around with no masks. When we visited restaurant at specified lunch time it was full. When i went down to reception i was told well the restuarant opened at 12.30. Our time was 14.45 so no good telling me its been open since 12.30 when we were asked to stick to allocated times. Restuarant staff and the young indian man on reception were all very good.they should notify you if its over run with children. having children myself i was appalled at thevlack of respect they had for adults and the teachers were clearly not interested

Smashing stay

Nice staff. Cant comment on food as we didnt have food. Rooms are pretty basic but clean. Probably does need tea making facilities in the rooms.Walls are very thin so can hear everything in the next room. Cleanliness was good.

Covid19 holiday
Great set up for covid19 friendly staff cleaning all the time great bar staff especially kelvin , Alexandra etc two downsides where food could bd hotter and wrist bands should be used during covid19 as these cards are passed around to much

If you use the room only to sleep not that bad.
It was not the hotel’s fault but the hotel was crowded and people seemed busy to do the basic. Friendly but you could see the staff were tired which didn’t help. Rooms need renovation but it was clean.

Not a great hotel - not coming back.
The H-TOP Palace is not a great hotel. It's evident the management is more concerned about profits than high customer reviews. The facilities are old and outdated, the rooms were not very clean, you have to pay extra for WiFi and even for the safe (security box)! The breakfast was ok, but extremely crowded and long lines to get fresh foods. The location is not bad, but there are other H-TOP hotels closer to the beach. We will not be returning to this hotel for our next trip to Calella.

PAPER THIN WALLS - Very noisy
Negatives - The walls are so thin between the rooms you can hear every sound from neighbours, even if they were whispering! If you don't want to wake up between 4 and 6 in the morning, don't stay here! We stayed in off peak season, can't imagine what it's like in peak! Have stayed in many hotels in Spain, this is definitely the noisiest. If you are an early bird you might get away with it. Positives - Food was very good. Staff are friendly. The hotel is generally very nice but we would not come back due to lack of sleep. Your choice, weigh up the pros and the cons.

Best meals, value4money, no wifi, tiny indoor pool
The food choice was amazingly great. Same applies to breakfast, lunch and dinner. A cooking staff called Sedu was the most friendly. This was the second time we stayed there. However, we had a terribly noisy toilet flushing system that was non-stop for 2 days, Even after 'repaired', we had intermittent issues with it. The sound system in the room was very poor. We could clearly hear the people in the next room talking in the days and snoring in the night. The indoor swimming pool was too small so in a way it was meaningless/no use. No spa unless you buy all inclusive. There was no free wifi in the hotel (not even in the reception area). The staff on the desk were very helpful. They kindly printed our boarding passes at 5 am for free. It was overall value for money so would recommend.

Lovely hotel
Really enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent and the staff friendly. Clean Spacious rooms with two double beds. We would certainly recommend Calella Palace and will definatly return.

Cheap and clean hotel for a family break.
Stayed 4 nights at end of september for a family getaway. The room was clean and pleasant, if a little dated. Breakfast was pretty good, aside from the crowds - it was like the zombie apocalypse around the bacon. Our two young children loved the pools; there was a big one around the front which attracted the older kids and adults with a small paddling pool round the back which was rarely busy - we were there most days. The hotel is one of the furthest from the beach, but even then its only a 5 to 10 minute walk so don't let that put you off. Overall we enjoyed our stay; at 45 pounds per night including breakfast for a family of 4 we couldn't really complain! Great for a cheap getaway.

Peaceful hotel
We booked into this hotel for the last 2 nights of our break as our hotel was just too noisy that we weren’t getting any sleep. As I’ve seen in other reviews this hotel does seem to be popular with older clients who are Spanish. It was ideal for us, the reception staff were wonderful, the hotel was clean, the breakfast buffet was lovely & more importantly we got a lovely 2 nights of sleep. We spent most of our time on the rooftop terrace & it was lovely with wonderful views

Not a 4-star hotel, 1-star at best
Absolutely awful. Broken air-con - only worked occasionally with cardboard stuck in it, Uncomfortable bed/mattress, thin & cheap pillows, unfriendly staff who at times seemed annoyed and aggressive, No free WIFI, you have to pay extra for Orange juice at breakfast, No free parking, very dated bathroom - dirty tiles with grout missing, the Sink plug didn't really drain, hairdryer was dirty, sticky and had hair stuck to it. On our one & only trip to the hotel bar, the barman said he didn't accept our MasterCard, but then another guest came over and corrected him as she had just been served. All very strange and pushy as he wanted us to pay for a pre-pay drink card which we didn't want. The food at breakfast overall was cheap buffet food with guests pushing each other out the way to get to sugary water-based drinks, coffee which tasted like chemical cleaning fluids. We also paid for breakfast when booking online but the hotel had no record of this and we then had to pay extra €30 for the 4 of us.

Hated it so much that I left before the dates that I paid for. The thin walls would let you hear everything that other guests were doing or saying. One night called the reception, past 11 p.m., complaining about noise and they said that it was normal to have noise at least up to midnight. Needless to say that I left the following day. In this hotel I won't stay again for free, much less paying. Don't go there if you enjoy your sleeping

Great hotel for families and groups
I spent 9 days at the hotel. The room was regularly cleaned, so after a day out it was nice to come back and relax before heading out to the local bars in the evening. The Calella Palace provides all inclusive which is excellent value for families. Being one of the globe's single travellers, I opted for Bed and Breakfast. I paid upon arrival at the hotel and I must say the breakfast was second to none with just about every kind of morning dish available. At times the restaurant was fairly packed, but I always managed to get a table to myself. The staff were very friendly and well organised. Most evenings there were cabaret acts which kept the holiday-makers entertained. My room was quiet and I had nothing to complain about which is unusual for such a large hotel. Even when a crowd of teenagers occupied the room opposite, there was no real noise to speak of. The room's view was rather picturesque with lots of hills and trees; in between which I could just make out the sea.

First night , whole night was noisy , also one can hear exactly what's going on the both the room next to your room ,no privacy , any noises can be heard from the room being promised to change the room by the reception , on arrival night , following morning waited for whole day the receptionist has not had any chance to arrange any thing,receptionist asked us to come at 12 pm then at one spend whole day just wasting in front of hotel

Nice hotel but...
The hotel is lovely, clean, good food, friendly reception and cleaning staff, nice rooms and brilliant jaccuzi and sauna services. The thinness of the walls is unbearable, babies crying, people breaking and making up, full blown conversations and people going to the toilet. The bar staff hate their jobs and they will hate you, you are an inconvenience especially if you're British and all inclusive.

The worst hotel we have ever stayed in! We were treated with PAY UP FRONT! PAY FOR USING SAFE! PAY FOR CAR PARKING! PAY FOR WIFI! PAY FOR USING SUN LOUNGER! PAY FOR USING UMBRELLA FOR SUN LOUNGER! PAY TO PRINT OFF BOARDING PASSES €5 PER SHEET OF PAPER! Total rip off hotel we will NEVER stay at a H TOP HOTEL again, we plan on doing the IRONMAN challenge again next year in Barcelona but will NOT stay at this hotel!

Not a great hotel don't know how it got a four star I'd say a two star at best, the worst bed I ever slept in, they were a bit of money grabin pack there aswell, they wanted five euro to print off a boarding pass, it's only a sheet of paper like!! Hotel H.Top Callella Place, All Inclusive
We stayed at this hotel on an all inclusive deal, overall it was very good value with an excellent selection of food and drink (with no large queues). The staff were helpful and friendly and our room was cleaned every day and was kept immaculately clean with fresh towels etc. The only downside was there was no parking facilities at this hotel and we had taken our car, we did find secure parking for 8 Euros a day 5 mins walk away. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends. It was a good first experience of an all inclusive holiday for our family.

A base more than a holiday
if you are just using this hotel as a base then it will be fine but if you are looking at it as a holiday then forget it. No one speaks to you, the staff dont even smile, apart from a lovely little man in the bar!! The entertainment in the evening is a couple that were playing cd's. The hotel was clean and tidy, but don't go to the reception before 7 or else there will be no lights on!! The food was nice, cold but nice! As I say, If you are going to use it as a base the hotel is fine but i woul be so disapointed if I had taken my family for our holiday

TOP Calella Palace was lovley, constantly being cleaned, spacious rooms which were well equiped. Plenty of facilities onsite to use, in a good location, within 5/10 minutes walking distance to beach or town. Friendly and helpful staff. Lifts very slow so expect to use the stairs a lot. My only complaint would be that it is not clearly stated in the information or in the hotel that there is a lovley rooftop area with bar and jacuzzis for adults over 18's only, I feel it would'd have been nice as a couple to be told about that.
