Corona, in Riverside County, was founded during southern Californias citrus boom in the late 1800s. Nowadays, it is known as being the gateway to the Inland Empire. Prior to the 1980s, Corona was known for its agriculture, i.e. citrus orchards, ranches, and dairy farms. But with sky-high real estate prices in Los Angeles and Orange counties, Corona soon became a major suburb of L.A.
