“Lovely hotel”
I was a lone female, with meetings in St Austell, and I felt very comfortable. Staff were lovely.
“Delightful three days”
Stayed before and after a family wedding. Excellent service and food and a great spa as a bonus.
“excallent”
Excellent all round. Very good food too. they could do with installing dome air conditioning and replacing a few windows but we were delighted overall.
“Great weekend”
Truly excellent weekend lovely hotel and location
“Fabulous weekend in a Hotel with exceptional staff and service”
Apart from an initial confusion over our request for a double rather than a twin room (which was dealt with swiftly and courteously) we had a fabulous weekend in this excellent hotel. Large, clean and very comfortable double room. Exceptional service from all the staff who all work extremely hard to provide great service, with a smile and without any indication that anything would be too much trouble. the Bay View restaurant served us great food in good time and again made us feel like we were valued clients rather than just another customer. Pool and Gym, whilst not the largest were clean and in excellent repair. All this despite the fact that as it was half-term the hotel was extremely busy with many of the guests being families. We will be back and we do recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a good location to see West Cornwall and all it has to offer.
“Cornwall's best kept secret”
We had such a great time at the Carlyon Bay Hotel. My husband was in his element on the golf course, and I had the time to laze about in the spa! Straight out of the hotel grounds and you're on the South West Coast Path, only half an hour's walk from Charlestown with wonderful pubs. And so close to Eden and Heligan. We're already planing our return visit.
“"Pleasantly surprised"”
We usually holiday abroad four times a year. However, this last break we stayed at the Carlyon Bay hoping for the best. The sea view room, which was well furnished and had fine bed linen, was roomy enough for us but might be a squeeze for big people. It’s slightly formal (great) in the main restaurant and the well presented fare was varied enough with an excellent wine list to go with it. The spa includes all the usual amenities and there is a large outside pool. Golfers (I am not one) can use the golf course next door, which seems to be a good deal. There is a playroom for the young ones. Except for a grumpy porter on arrival the staff was efficient, pleasant and helpful throughout. The management is clearly doing it right at this hotel. We were pleasantly surprised by the generational cross-section of guests, i.e. grandparents, parents and (well-behaved!) children all together, which was lovely to see in a UK hotel. My only niggle is that wi-fi should not be chargeable but that will not stop us coming back to the superbly located Carlyon Bay next time in Cornwall.
“very nice hotel”
Very nice hotel Good location Fantasic, relaxing SPA
“Lovely stay very quiet”
Staff were brilliant very helpful hotel was spotless the general feel was very professional spa was small but very nice will be lovely in summer when outdoor pool in use the age of guests did range from 60 plus but if ya want a quiet break then that's good .
“Pleasant Stay”
The public areas appear to have been redecorated recently as had our bedroom. There seemed to be some work in progress on other bedrooms although this in no way disturbed our stay. We had a seaview room that was well appointed but not over generous in size. The staff that we encountered were efficient and helpful. We were on a B&B arrangement but dined in the restaurant a couple of times during our six night stay. The table d' hote seemed to us a little on the pricey side and the food was good but not exceptional. If you want a change of dining venue then there are few options in the immediate locality. Overall we enjoyed our break and would stay at this hotel again.
