“Peaceful and comfortable”
Spent three days here prior to a week on Paxos. Lovely bedrooms with great sunny balconies. Staff very pleasant and most have been working at hotel for many years. Pool is beautiful and the gardens most attractive. There does seem to be a lack of anyone working at the pool to help with sunloungers etc. or serve drinks. Pool bar is good for evening drinks and we enjoyed one dinner in the hotel which was excellent but overpriced. We returned for another three nights after our week on Paxos as we were so impressed with our previous stay. Would return. Not suitable really for children as no beach nearby and a sense of adult calm seems the general theme. Hotel is a few mins walk from the action of the bars and lovely restaurants of the town.
“Lovely relaxing stay”
Lovely views from all bedrooms, excellent breakfasts, everywhere in the town within walking distance, staff extremely helpful. We visited early in the season when it was very quiet.
“Great Corfu Hotel”
The staff were great, the food was wonderful especially the deserts. We went in September and the Hotel though full was very quiet and I had the pool to myself on many occations. It is a short walk to the shops. It was lovely have a great veiw from the balcony over the water.
“2 nights to recover!”
We stayed after a fortnights sailing looking for a bit of comfort before returning back to busy jobs. The greeting was warm, the room spacious with a sea view and balcony. The indoor pool was open but the Spa closed on Sundays. We went a la carte and had a pricey(compared to town) but very good dinner on both nights. The wine selection was interesting and adequate with good local options at a price. The twin beds wont be to everyones taste so ask if you really want a double. We will stay again the location is great...just 5 mins to the heart of Old town (uphill) and less than 10 mins to the airport....Ongoing decoration is underway (Oct.2011)but all about improvement and not intrusive.
“Ideal”
I recently saw some reviews of this hotel, dating from March and April 2012, which complained about “worn” or “outdated” rooms, cold breakfast, “not up to 5-star standard, 3-star at best”. We stayed at Corfu Palace in May 2012 and had none of that. The rooms were recently and tastefully refurbished. We have stayed in places like San Francisco Hilton, Boston Copley Plaza and the like, and yes, they have larger chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, but so what? Corfu Palace is located just far enough from the town to be relatively quiet yet only a few minutes’ walk from shops and restaurants, the breakfast offers a lot of choice of very good quality, the cuisine is excellent, and there are splendid indoor and outdoor pools. A casino in the basement for those who need it. We found the staff very friendly and helpful, and above all, the hotel offers a view across the bay to die for. Ideal.
“Corfu Palace Hotel”
This hotel is very good indeed, the staff were amazing, hard working, friendly, courteous, always a smile and nothing was too much trouble for them. The biggest problem this week was he amount of work they were doing to the hotel to install a casino. Consequently, we were rushed out of the dining room after breakfast for them to continue with their decorating and maintenance, the lounge area was out of action due to this, which was a big inconvenient during the rainy weekend, when one had to resort to going back to the room as there was nowhere to sit. I am sure that once this work has been done, the hotel will be back to its usual self, but nonetheless, I do not understand why this work could not have been put back a couple of weeks as the season was already drawing to and end.
“Excellent traditional hotel.”
An excellent, old fashioned hotel. In need of some updating in terms of furnishing and decor but superbly well located, spacious and comfortable with both pleasing grounds and internal and external pools. Good breakfast buffet marred only by appalling coffee. virtually all rooms have superb sea views and spacious balconies. All in all, does not disappoint.
“Phonique”
Problème phonique entre les chambres. Construction ancienne avec matériaux non isolants
“A little tired but enjoyable and pleasant”
Fantastic location and overall a nice experience but the hotel is in need of some upgrading and the cleanliness in the rooms in particular was only average.
