"Nice hotel close to the sea."
I went bike riding and a car almost hit me so I fell on the sidewalk and got hurt. The staff was so nice and got me a glass of juice and bandages for my wounds.

"Very satisfied"
Very nice hotel, close but not too close to the central station. Our room was small but very clean and everything we required was there. Good value for the money in an otherwise very expensive city.

"Convenient to Copenhagen Central"
Was nicer than other reviews suggest, but usual problems with older hotels like carpet stains and rings on desks. Gentle shabbiness, but well designed and comfortable. Also, terribly well-located. New towels would be nice.

"Large hotel with extremely comfie beds."
We booked this at the very last minute for a spontaneous four day trip to Copenhagen for my husband, me and our 12 year old. The hotel is a 5/10 minute easy walk from the central station and right on the waterfront. It is a large, modern hotel. If you are looking for a boutiquey, scandic hotel, this is not for you, it's quite corporate and a little soulless. Having said that it's immaculately clean and the rooms are very large and comfortable. I slept like a log in the large, squashy bed. There is a bar in the lobby area with seating outside overlooking the river and a restaurant (which we didn't use). The staff are very polite and helpful. The area surrounding the hotel is quiet with offices and large financial buildings close by. It's about a 15/20 minute walk to more lively areas with bars and restaurants although on the opposite riverbank there are some nice bars, restaurants and cafes (serving delicious and well priced breakfasts) which is a 10/15 minute walk across the nearest bridge. The Tivoli Gardens are about a 10 minute walk away and absolutely well worth a visit. A little like Disney of old but without all the in your face commercialism, a real surprise and an absolute treat. Copenhagen itself is lovely - very clean, outdoorsy and friendly with lots of great places to eat and lots to see and do. Would I stay in the Marriott again? Probably not - not because it was bad - it really wasn't - but I'd prefer to be in a livelier area and a bit less corporate.

Fantastic trip to Copenhagen and The Phoenix was a perfect choice. If you're used to the soulless chains many of us have become used to, you may think it's a little dated. If you're after a traditional European hotel you can differentiate and remember years later, head for The Phoenix. Our room was very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent (and plentiful, with things replenished even before they ran out), easily keeping us fuelled until dinner. All the staff we met were very knowledgeable about their city with advice on how to get the best from our trip. They were also unfailingly helpful and polite. The Phoenix is in a central location and within an easy walk of many things we wanted to see, and public transport is excellent (integrated and simple to use, why can't the UK manage it?!) for anything a little bit further. We got Copenhagen Cards for 72 hours - we more than got our money's worth as it was great value covering public transport (inc. regional trains) and most attractions. We used it to get out to Louisiana Museum and Ordrupgaard as well as more central things. Go, have a great time :)
