“Canadian Traveller”

Breakfast in the morning is fantastic to start your day. The location of the hotel near the central train startion is superb for travelling by train or walking the city.

“Not impressed - looked better on screen”

Very small and basic room! Uncomfortable bed with pathetic pillows not worth the name. The bed was squeezed into the corner of the room hard up against the wall meaning I had to crawl over the wife to get to the loo at night. I slept on the floor during the last night of our stay and used my sweater as a pillow to ensure a better night sleep for all. The locality gives easy access to the train station and is close to the city centre without being too busy. I was suprised to find the hotel surrounded by strip bars and sex shops. Breakfast was nice.

“hotel in Copenhagen”

hotel located near the train station, rooms and beds were extremely small even by European standards, good breakfast buffet, the hotels caters to medium size groups of students or teenagers (which can be noisy), staff was helpful and provided us with a room as soon as there was one available (early arrival).

“Good location-small rooms-decent breakfast”

If you need somewhere near the station or Tivoli then this is ideal as they are minutes away. However we booked a triple room which seemed to be a double with a single bed in it meaning that the double was turned 90 degrees to the room which meant sleeping against the wall and no headboard. Although we were there in early june the room was stifling and the heat unbearable - possibly because we were on the 5th floor. Everytime we walked in we gasped for air and rush to open the tiny window. Breakfast was however good'ish and staff seemed satisfactory and then I remembered what I had paid and would therefore say perhaps they could have been a little more welcoming. Probably more 2 star than three but would consider again simply because of the location.

“Convenient bt with limits”

Ansgar Hotel near railroad station--easy access by walking altho dragging a carryon not the most convenient over cobblestone walks. Very near central city, tourist sites, shopping, transportation. Hotel proper is NOT w/c accessible, lots of stairs for getting bags to rooms altho there is an elevator not very convenient to room areas. No staff help for baggage assist. Morning buffet is quite good, lots of choice, clean and well served. Desk help was efficient, had good knowledge of area and how to negotiate through to areas of interest. Brochures, etc., kept up to date. People using hotel seem to be routine adult customers plus hotel is child friendly. Nice outside terrace at the back for relaxing, eating. No other food service than morning buffet Housekeeping standards good, rooms clean, linens changed daily . Free internet access. We would stay there again only if we had only light luggage. Stay was June 21-28

“Cheap and basic hotel with guaranteed quality.”

The room was very very small!! After taking shower, all bathroom was wet, since bathroom and toilet are not separated. That annoys! Apart from that, all the services were ok, breakfast was great Scandinavian. Economy hotel with guaranteed quality.

“Worst Stay in Copenhagen!!!”

Everything about this hotel is so bad that I don't know where to start with. First the area where the hotel is located is on a dirty sleazy street with 2 strip joints a block away from it. Once at the hotel after an unpleasant walk from the train station you are faced by elevators don't line up with the floors so you either have to climb 10 steps or go down and this is with suitcases. The room I first got was so increcibly small that even a person who is not claustrophobic will become one after a few hours in it. I complained the next day and the staff was kind enough to give me a room that was a little larger. The beautiful pictures of the patio you see do NOT exist as they are remodeling that area, so all you see is piles of dirt and cement in the patio area. The breakfast is average, I think just about any other hotel in Copenhagen that offers buffett breakfast, is better. In the shower/bathroom, there is no Shampoo/conditionair but rather they have this awful, cheap liquid soap that on it says "shampoo and body soap", and its really poor quality, so after reading my review if you still plan to stay there take some shampoo & conditionair with you. One more thing, I forgot to take my toothbrush with me and so I went to the reception and asked if they had one, and the lady who worked there offered me one. When I was checking out they charged me $5 for it (25 DKK), very expensive toothbrush. And my phone didn't work for 2 of the 5 nites I was there.... BAD!!
