“A nice and convenient place to stay”
I was nervous about staying here, having read mixed reviews, but it turned out beter than I expected. We were upgraded to a junior suite for no reason, and the room layout was good, and spacious. There were some worn aspects to the room - some marks on the ceiling etc. - but nothing that interfered with our stay. The service was excellent, the concierge giving us good advice about local laundry facilities, as we'd missed the deadline for their laundry service. The breakfast buffet was extensive, and the Internet access good. The hotel is so close to the train station, making it convenient but noisy with the window open. I would stay there again if I wanted somewhere convenient.
“Great location in the heart of Copenhagen”
Nice hotel, easy to find, pretty central to everyplace I wanted to visit. Staff very helpfull, good sugestions for eating and shopping. Breakfast was served in the Italian restaurant on the main floor, and was nice. Bathroom was different - the shower setup was a like on a travel trailer - curtain off the toilet, turn on sink faucet, active shower hose and try to keep water from spraying out the bathroom door to the room. It worked out ok as the hang of it by the second day. For a short trip (I was there 2 days on the way back home from a business trip to Oslo) you couldn't beat combination of price, convenience and comfort.
“Grand Hotel review”
This is an old established hotel in the heart of Copenhagen's tourist and shopping district, next to the central train station. It has an excellent restuarant on the ground floor, and is a great value overall.
“Excellent Location”
This hotel was within walking distance of many of Copenhagen's sights including the marvellous Tivoli Gardens. The rooms were comfortable but make sure that if you want a double you specify that this does not mean simply two twin beds pushed together. The breakfast had a large enough variety to satisfy most tastes. Would stay here again if I were to visit Copenhagen again.
“Centrally located but not a 4 Star Hotel”
Room was small; bathroom had a shower only enclosed by a curtain so entire bathroom gets wet; breakfast was an extra 110 Krone, not included; would not reduce the rate for my 4th night which was much higher than first 3 nights. Good location; clean; free internet WIFI connection in room
“A grand old lady showing her age”
Nice hotel in the old style, relatively inexpensive for the middle of town, but noisy and small rooms for those who like a bit more space. lack of Air condotoioning was a bit of a problem when the weather is hot, as is the case for many Copenhagen hotels. Great breakfast smorgasbord.
“Great location, great price and charm”
We arrived late in Copenhagen and were thrilled that the Grand Hotel was a brief walk from the train station. Very conveniently located to tourist sites and restaurants. Small Europeon room. Great breakfast. Staff are helpful and speak English. Computer available in lobby for email etc.
“Not as good as the 1st time, but still a nice hotel”
The only downside about the hotel was that we were in the "new wing" which is code language for... no direct elevator to your floor from the lobby, need to take an ancient service elevator, and need to walk around nearly the entire hotel to find the room. I've stayed here before, and the staff is friendly, the breakfast is good, and the rooms are clean. The location of our room was not ideal because of the walk, and also because of the windows overlooking the garbage dumpsters - it wasn't the smell, it was the loud clanging of the bottles in the middle of the night. I would still stay here again.
“Great value and good location”
Confortable size room--bigger than most euro hotel rooms. Location was within walking distance of many Copenhagen attractions. Desk service could have been a bit quicker.
