"Converted barge with great views"
surprised that we needed to call with our cell phone to check into the hotel, but once in it was a great location with marvelous views of the city. Good for 1 or 2 nights. Not a good choice if you're handicapped or require extensive services. Breakfast and evening hot chocolate were nice free amenities.

"Simple, good location for visit & metro to airport"
It was a clean simple hostel to stay but it is always busy. A variety of folks stayed here like college students, families, and older couples, etc. Closely located to Nyhavn and the Stroget (main shopping street) and the metro & bus stops. the room is small, simple by comfortable. You only get 1 towel for your stay but can request a replacement. Overall, I would recommend it if you are not looking for a luxury stay.

"Excellent location "
The hotel is situated about 2 mins walk from Rosenborg park (and palace), and really quite central for everything. quietish area but with some decent restaurants - felt safe at night. 10 min walk to bars etc. Really friendly staff. Smallish area for breakfast, can get a bit busy but pleasant. Breakfast was usual continental, but good. No kettles etc in rooms, but complimentary tea/coffee/juice available all day in lobby. No air con in rooms, but in Copenhagen you dont usually need it. Our room was plain but clean, 2 single beds together were very comfortable. very little external noise. Bathroom rather dated but fine. Location is key and i cant really think of a better one in Copenhagen.

"Excellent location great hotel"
We stayed in a family room for 2 nights with our 2 kids. The room is a loft style with nice queen bed upstairs and a sofa pull out downstairs . It is small but fitted out family ok. The view to the harbor is great, too bad for the construction on the pier. This hotel is very centrally located and very nice.

"Ibsens Hotel"
We found the rooms ok except on 6th floor our attic room was airless and a bit claustrophobic. We asked to be moved to a cooler room and although the room was larger and cooler - with windows open the kitchen staff down below could be heard banging plates & dishes until 12pm or later. In winter with closed windows this wouldn't be an issue. The beds were comfortable and there were enough hangers and towels. No bathroom plug or air extraction in the bathroom. We were told the bathroom plug thing was an eco factor. Actually more water wasted by not having a plug. I've not heard of a bathroom (no windows) with internal walls without some kind of air extraction. I think a lick of paint on the outside would be a good things. All in all it was the location and the friendly member of staff on the desk which made it a good stay.

"Fantastic room"
We had a great stay at this hotel and had a large corner room which we loved (full of Arne Jacobsen furniture style classics if you like that type of thing). Very friendly staff, decent breakfasts, excellent location that was near enough to city centre and also an easy walk from the main station. We really enjoy visiting Copenhagen and would definitely stay in this hotel again.

"Good effort"
Nice welcome, room only guaranteed at 2pm but they got it ready for 1.15 and offered free tea or coffee. Room very small, small twin beds, you'd have a job to get in with 2 people and their luggage. Did have a safe and free coffee/tea, I thought I had chosen an hotel with aircon but my room did not have it. Some electric points did not work, they promised to get an electrician but they still didn't work after my 2 day stay. Could use other points so not really a problem. . Plus points: close to station, can walk there if you only have an overnight bag to carry. They can't do anything about the idiots who slam their room doors, but noisewise, very quiet at night, no traffic noise so could have windows wide open. Good area. Very good breakfast. Good restaurants nearby.

"Comfortable hotel close to Tivoli."
We enjoyed our stay at this convient hotel. Walking distance to Tivoli, the central train station, and the hip meat packing district. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The street was a little noisy, because of construction going on nearby.

Pocket Guide: Copenhagen Copenhagen City Centre Independent Hotels

The formerly fortified centre is now encircled by parks and criss-crossed with paved pedestrian streets. Nearly all of Copenhagen’s sights are here, including Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Castle, the National Art Museum, Tivoli Gardens, the Royal Danish Theatre and the Round Tower. The Little Mermaid sculpture sits by the harbour in Churchill Park. Strøget has many restaurants and shops, and remains at the centre of the city's night life.
