"My top tier stay in Portland"
We felt like pampered millionaires from the moment we stepped onto the property of the Crowne Plaza, Portland. The staff was as nice and cheerful at 3:00 am as they were at 3:00 pm. The room felt like a suite without being a suite. The bed was comfortable and our sleep was restful. The restaurant was very good with nice service. The location was the best discovery with its short walk to public transportation to all parts of the city. Again, the knowledgable staff made getting around the city and suburban areas exceptionally easy.

"Excellent value"
Not the fanciest place but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Surprisingly comfortable in fact. The air conditioning was ice cold. For the price, this place is a tremendous value.

"Nice hotel close to the public transport rail line"
The hotel is about 2-3 blocks from the max rail line stop. Rooms were nice and clean. Overall weekend stay was nice and quiet. Only con was the soft pillows they had. Other than that, pretty nice stay for the price.

"Way better than expected"
I had to go to Portland unexpectedly and needed a cheaper hotel than I usually stay in. I got there to check in and was a littler nervous as the hotel doesn't look too nice from the outside but the check in was easy and the staff was nice. I got to my room and layed down and didn't want to get up. The bed was so comfortable, I just melted into it. I've stayed at the Marriot and Crowne Plaza while in Portland before and can honestly say, I was more comfortable here. After checking out, I recieved a call a couple hours later letting me know I had accidently left some money in the room. They wanted to make sure it was not a tip instead of just assuming. I have to say, that really speaks volumes to me.

"Easy Walk to Convention Center"
I would stay at the Motel 6 in Portland again. It was an easy walk to the convention center where I was attending a conference. Desk personnel were very pleasant, cars in the parking lot were relatively new, and the guests I saw appeared to be vacationers looking for a less expensive but reasonable accommodations. I saw an older couple and two mid 20ish men with new mountaineer type bikes. But no hairdryer :(. I stayed 4 nights. The last night there was a strange moan/whimper that occurred every 15 to 30 seconds. It turned out to be the pipes that had air in them. I used the red rail line from the airport ($2.50) to get to the motel and there was a station just 1 block from the motel. Extremely convenient. There is also some type of bus/street car stop adjacent to the motel which I did not use. Parking and WiFi are also free!!! Not like the more expensive, upscale hotels nearby where parking was around $10 per day. I also saw a sign that they accept dogs under 80 lbs but there was a lady walking her Great Dane around the complex. I like dogs so that was okay with me. I ordered pizza, pasta, salad, chicken wings from a menu in the room and the restaurant delivered. The room had a microwave and refrigerator so I could save the leftovers for breakfast, etc.
