“Friendly”
The hotel was clean and the service was friendly. Of all the hotels I have stayed at,this had the best free breakfast and the most reasonably priced items at the front desk. The staff was not only friendly but also engaging and treated us like welcome friends.
“Trips to Columbus Keep Getting Better and Better!”
This trip to Columbus was our third time to the city in the past three years and second staying at the Residence Inn Downtown. My wife and I have made a yearly trip to the city from Reading, PA to see the Blue Jackets play our favorite team, the Edmonton Oilers. I cannot say enough about this hotel and the city in general; Columbus has become a must-go-to destination for our family. We stayed for four days this trip so were able to take-in more of the city and its attractions. The charm of the hotel being in a former bank location is itself worth the price of staying; adding the cleanliness of the rooms, the attentiveness of the staff, the reasonably-priced valet service and a daily breakfast buffet makes it a sure hit. The hotel is conveniently located to all downtown attractions and is within short walking distance of both the Arena District and Brewery District. For those so inclined, and in decent physical condition, the OSU campus is also within manageable walking distance. We're already looking forward to planning our 2013 trip!!
“Near Nationwide Arena”
It was girl's weekend out to see Bob Seger at the nationwide arena. The hotel is about at a nice 20 minute walk to the arena. The area is safe to walk around. There is a restaurant right across the street. We would definately stay there again. Nice sized bedroom, livingroom and full kitchen.
“"will stay again!"”
We loved this hotel. We stayed in Columbus to see an Ohio State game. The Hotel was the closet one that we could get. We stayed in a king suite room, and I have no complaints. It was very nice. The only thing with this hotel is that there is no on-site parking, they have a valet (for $20). We had fast service with the Valet parking. There are parking lots in downtown Columbus, but it would have cost more to park over night there than it did for the $20 valet fee at the hotel. Overall we had a great experience there, and would stay again! ..oh, and we didnt get there in time (before the game) but i had called to see if we could check in early, and they had no problems with that! This was a very accomodating hotel!
“Would stay here again for sure”
Stayed for Columbus Marathon weekend. Only two complaints are that they won't upgrade your room if you pre-pay on Expedia, and that they did not start breakfast earlier the morning of the marathon when they knew their hotel was full of runners. Otherwise, everything was wonderful: the staff, the rooms, etc. I would stay here again when returning to Columbus.
“Served the purpose”
The staff let us check in at 10am. Very nice. No pool, breakfast was good and roon very clean. No complaints.
“much better than expected”
Hotel recently renovated. Valet service friendly but some at front desk not that much. Well lockated in Downtown. Good restaurants (Zagat) at short walking distance
“Would stay here again”
Hotel staff was very curtious and helpful. My stay included a great breakfast buffet as well.
“Great location when in town for a convention!”
Perfect location when in town for a convention at the Greater Columbus Convetion Center about six blocks north from the Hotel. The staff is very nice and helpful and the hotel is very clean.
“Great location and friendly staff”
The Residence Inn is conveniently located downtown and is within walking distance of German Village, the Distillery District, Short North and the Arena District. The lobby is located in a beautiful old bank. The rooms had recently been re-done. Although a bit small, there was a full kitchen and sitting area. The staff were very friendly and the room was extremely clean. Our stay included breakfast that included both hot and cold items, including fresh fruit. We were in town for Columbus Marathon and the best feature was that the hotel was about a minute from the starting line!
