This was a beautiful property, however, there is a huge racist undertone. I was there (black woman) with my mixed, young grandson (9 years) who didn’t want to go to meals because the other guest would gawk - not the staffs fault. One of our first evenings (I stayed for a week), we went to dinner (self seating) and as soon as we sat, we were rudely spoken to by a waiter who forcefully asked us to move seats to a much smaller option even through there were lots of other large tables available. We wanted to go to a local festival and were talked out of it because of the rain - its a huge festival and even when insisting that we still go we were told it wasn’t a good idea. After retreating to my room, defeated with not much to do, I went back down and demanded a taxi. Thank God I did, as it was nice to have a break away from this environment.

Overall it was an ok stay. Deducted stars because breakfast was not good and there were hairs all on the shower walls and floor which was disgusting. Then the hot water heater went out and it took almost the whole day for them to fix and I had to give my son a cold shower which was not fun for him.

The hotel itself is nice. Great staff and accommoding. While I was there, the homeless tended to hang around the outside bbq and fire pit areas. There were 2 incidents either the police or/and ambulance was called to help them. I felt a little unsafe to be outside the hotel(day or night) I was a little uneasy inside the lobby area because 2 of the homeless people were hanging in the lobby and lobby bathroom. I talked to both women and they seem harmless and actually very nice. However, not all are like that. If I come to Columbia again, I will most likely stay at another hotel due to safety.

They were renovating the property and the room had to be switched 3 times for different reasons and then the tv didn’t work. There was nothing they could do. But the beds are comfortable!

Nice property in the midst of renovation and the renovated areas we saw looked good. Excellent breakfast except broken toaster. Room lock worked very inconsistently. Fan(I think) on HVAC system very loud. I think our room had been renovated, so surprised that door lock and heater fan were faulty.

Clean except the pool area.
The room and public aread were very clean, the pool area less so. The tiles need a good scrubdown, they were grimy. The floor around the ladder also had what looked like concrete chips, this might have just occurred.

Hotel stay was good - housekeeping was aggressive
The hotel was nice, clean, and comfortable. However, the housekeeping. They knocked on the door every 30-45 minutes asking to come in even though we told them we were staying until check-out. I even called the front desk to confirm check-out time so we well within our time. The last housekeeping person was extra rude and told us we had stayed over our time. staff was relentless on our day of check-out. For a couple with small children, on their first overnight date night in several years, wanting to sleep in, the housekeeping staff was rude! That part was frustrating and annoying.

The hotel was nice and the perfect location only problem we had was the housekeeper room was across the hall from us. At 7:30 in the morning they were laughing,talking,and playing music loud. We were tired and needed rest because we had a 5 hour drive ahead of us. I checked out and told the front desk hopefully he dealt with that issue he said he would. He was pretty nice about and said he would handle it. Besides that it was fine.

Our room was properly supplied/stocked. Loved having a full size coffee pot. The bed was the most comfortable I've experienced at a hotel. The staff was more than just polite. They were up beat, truly friendly.
