Reasonably priced hotel located about 15/20 minutes from the Dom. Very friendly and helpful guy on reception. Helped us book a Covid test and was generally very professional. Room was spacious, a little dated in decor but no problem there. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Great comfortable stay

Friendly, clean and comfy
I work as an engineer and get sent away a lot. This hotel is very comfy and clean. All staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again.

Perfect for a few nights exploring the city
Lovely friendly hotel in central area. Very near metro but also walkable to city. Breakfast excellent value, staff friendly. Bar is quiet but with many bars nearby there is no need. Single comfort room looked brand new with Double bed and coffee machine. Perfect Stat

Huge rooms, free upgrades for everyone
Staff were friendly & room was clean, everything worked and had no issues. The room itself was amazing, incredible high ceilings, a large bathroom + a balcony. We assumed we got a free upgrade to a suite, it was that nice - but looking at the floor plan, all the rooms seem similar

Ascot is a hotel in a good location for us, as we needed to be near Im Mediapark. Lots of eating and drinking places nearby. The service was good. Sascha was amazing, and gave us fantastic recommendations for Koln. We felt at home. Thanks Sascha!

Location: 3 of 5 Room and cleanliness: 3.5 of 5 Common area: 2.5 of 5 Hotel Staff: overall 3 of 5, where front desk is 3.5 of 5 - they were courteous but did not explain about breakfast or wifi and house keeper is 2 of 5. House keeper was rude, kept knocking on door and did not tidy up room the first day, the 2nd day, she did not refill toilet and tissue paper and threw away my contact lenses and shower cap.

The photos for this place looked great, however, the room we got was apparently not updated like the rooms on the website. The decor was totally different and the bed frame had holes in it where something had apparently been screwed in but had fallen off. The night stand had a front wooden piece that fell apart at the touch. When we checked in we received a key card, only to get to our room and find a lock that required a regular key. The original key card lock had been removed and an older door knob was in its place. The room was ugly, the place was loud from other people, and the street was loud outside too. It comfortable enough if you’re in town on business and are a heavy sleeper but it’s nothing special.

Nice hotel to the center of the city
This was an OK hotel because i had the minimums required for the two-day days in köln. I was extremely disappointed with the wi-Fi as it was limited sake mate thats god awful...second there werent no fridge in the hotel mate I have been in hostel that have had a fridge, were we in the 16th century Ascot? ...ok well my rant is over just like my stay...

Wonderful
I have nothing bad to say about this hotel. Great staff, always ready to accommodate, no matter what we were asking for. Wonderfully comfortable beds, clean air-conditioned rooms. This hotel is conveniently situated: it's close enough to the train station, and only a 9 minutes walk from the city center. Wonderful restaurants in the area, all less than 7 minutes away.

My short trip to Koln was great, people were friendly and very helpful getting around walking was safe and not very busy

The hotel is in a perfect location. You can walk almost everywhere if you want to stay in the city. I stayed for two nights and every morning someone was trying to get to my room the first morning it was technical guys and the second it was cleaners at 8am. I complained about the first night and another morning I had the cleaners. I feel like they are a bit disorganized. Also there is a weird smell in the hallway. I visited this hotel because I was at a fair and the prices were far too high for what you get but I guess it's a normal price during this busy time in Cologne. Would I come back? Probably no. The room was clear and comfortable but not very warm.

Went during the fair on business. So room was not great value - but better than others. What made my stay was the reception team were excellent. They helped me sort many issues - taxis , shopping and restaurant bookings etc

Nice hotel, centrally located
The hotel is in a great location, near Friesenplatz, and close to dozens of restaurants and bars. Great night life in the surrounding area. A 2-minute walk from the Friesenplatz U-Bahn, which is directly connected to HBF (Central Station) by U-Line 5. The hotel looks grand from the outside. The room was a bit small but I guess that's standard for most European hotels. The front desk personnel were nice and friendly.

It was so so. Very friendly reception. But the cable connecting to TV was not connected so no TV signal. The receptionist said to wait until the next day for technician to fix it. But my stay was for only one night. My room was facing street so very noisy with the the bars open until 3-4am in the morning.

Not worth what they charge at all. the room was on a main roads with lots of clubs so noisy all the time. The room wasn't clean, there were blobs of dried food on the coffee table. They gave you one super thin pillow, mine had a mysterious stain on. The downstairs lobby was decorated nicely but the room felt shabby, lots of random holes in the walls. They didn't replace towels/toilet roll we had to keep calling to ask. There was a guy at reception who just wasn't very friendly he just gave us our keys and pointed no offer of a map or wifi or info on breakfast etc. Location was good for getting round but is definitely stay somewhere else in that area next time.

Fine hotel but light sleepers beware of sirens
There is a night club directly across the street. Depending on the luck of the draw, you might be awoken by police or ambulance vehicles (with their siren) coming to the night club at 3AM. Otherwise this is a fine hotel.

About 20 min walk to the cathedral .

In Cologne to see Queen + Adam Lambert at the RheinEnergie Stadium. The hotel staff were very friendly particularly the first young lady I met at reception. Helped sort trams and directions to the stadium. So helpful. I had to spend quite a bit of time in the room and the one major complaint was that for a hotel which has international guests there was only one tv channel in English and that was the US channel CNBC which is just news!

The front office staff, Patrick, was particularly helpful and went out of his way to make our stay enjoyable. Breakfast was good and plenty. In short, it is a great hotel. The only drawback was the parking and luggage.

Very nice place I'd say.
I went to this hotel for a 3 night stay while I visited tourist attractions in Colonge. I was very happy with the hotel, the staff where friendly and approachable, all spoke very good English which was good for me as I quickly found out my German wasn't as good as assumed it was! I found the hotel was in a convenient location, I guess older people might have difficulty walking into the old town area from their, but they cN probably afford a taxi, or hop on the near by underground station. The breakfast at the Hotel was really nice, I enjoyed the good choice on offer and I was entirely satified with it. My only slight grumble was that the wifi didn't seem all that great but that's only compared to my super fast fiber wifi at home.

Nice hotel
It is not right next to the centre (if you class this as the cathedral) but is a nice walk down to it. However those who can't walk far couldnt stay in this hotel (though we didn't test the public transport within in the city). Receptionists all spoke very good English and we're very friendly and helpful.
