The room smelt off, like it had previously been a smoking room. And the mattress on the bed if you could call it that was so hard my hips ached. I didnt sleep the night I got in and had to change hotels for my othwr two nights.

Good base for the Cathedral
This is a well placed hotel a stones throw away from the Cathedral. We stayed for two nights to visit the markets and it was great to use as a base. The room was quite clean and tidy and the staff were excellent, due to an early flight we got the a few hours before check in but as our room was ready we were checked straight in with no issues. The bed was comfortable enough but the spare blankets in the cupboard were a bit dirty and we didn't end up using them even though it was a bit cold.

BAD WIFI, Great Location Old Hotel Needs Cleaning
Wifi was Horrible! Very frustrating situation! I had to use off my phone data instead. Even then signal wasn't the best. Therefore was not able to complete what I needed to work on. But it should be an easy enough fix for the hotel if they choose to fix it! Otherwise, carpets really need cleaning. BUT great for the central location near Central Station / Kölner Dom/ Catherdal.

Literally just a few hundred meters away from the Cologne Cathedral. Excellent location for walking around the city. Liquor store right next door for convenient snack & water stops.

In general the property is run down. The shower head would not stay up and needed to be held in place with one hand. The sink was badly worn down and needed to be replaced. A group of creepy men were constantly standing outside and staring at the women in a gross way. A group of similar men stayed outside the hotel playing music and talking very loudly until 3AM. To be fair the sheets were were clean and the bed comfortable. The location is excellent. A few steps away from the Domer and Hohe st.

I liked the location and the receptionist a lot! (Room 109) What I didn't like a lot was that the table still had stains from previous mugs. Also one of the sockets is a bit loose so make sure to properly plug in the charger! In the shower the shower head holder is weirdly angled so you have to hold it in your hand but that's no problem.

The property location is a 10/10 it is located at the heart of the city center. The staff are very friendly as well. The Hotel however is in need of renovation and just feels outdated. On a hot day there is no Air Conditioning and you cannot open the windows since the noise from outside is too much. All the reviews about the strange smell in the rooms etc were true for us. To add to this there was no hot water in the night to the morning. The hotel cleaning staff missed the turndown as well so we had no turndown in the 3 nights we were there unfortunately (They offered a turndown when we complained but this was late at night and we were just looking to sleep) If your neighbors are noisy you will not get any sleep since the noise really travels through the walls. In conclusion Pros: Amazing Location, Friendly staff, good wifi Cons: Funky smelling rooms, No AC, Poor quality sheets and pillows, Amenities are dated, no charging ports at the bedside, no in room safe

Great location but not so great accommodation
Location is very central, just a minute away from Dom and the train station. Still, fairly quiet and away from the more trafficed streets, even though the homeless seemed to have a get-together place just around the corner. Room very basic, with a bed, tv, a large table and a chair, and a kettle. No storage, curtains rather poor and letting in a lot of light. Bathroom rather unpleasant, with terrible lighting and from above covered with slats through which one can see there are cables and pipes up there. If the bathroom were more palatable this might be an ok place but based on my experience I'd look for another option when next in town.

Have stayed at the Konigshof many times. Close to the main train station at Cologne, very convenient. Good price for the room although the breakfast a bit pricy at 15 Euros. The rooms are small but clean, old style German hotel.

Great location but with facilities issue :(
Room service only change the towels, and the rubbish bin that’s all ! The toilet water kept flowing for 3 nights stay although it was reported the first night with a very annoying water flow sound nothing fixed. Otherwise hotel location is really great !

Great location..close to everything i wanted to see. Go to Cologne every year to visit friends. Never stayed in this hotel but would stay again as it suits me. Very good value....didnt appear dirty..a bit dated perhaps but as im familiar with cologne wasnt planning on spending all day in my room! Perfectly acceptable..

Decent hotel close to all
Great location and good value for what I was looking for - A comfortable bed for the night and all transport/shops/restaurants within a short walk. The hotel is showing its age but no complaints! I would return to stay here again!

was extremely disappointed with check-in when I was asked to pay an "early check in fee". The front desk said it is usually 20 Euro, but they can reduce to 10 Euro. which of course they wouldn't let us pay by credit card - so the cash went right into the guys pocket. such a scam - but not real choice here. The location is very close to train station and walking distance to all the Kolsh places etc, and it was relatively cheap - so you get what you pay for. but try looking somewhere else first.

Location of this hotel is fantastic and it would appear that the owner feels that is enough. The condition of the premises and the state of the room and quality of things like the shower and mattress etc were entirely unremarkable Price partially reflected the hotel’s relative market position but I should have paid 50% more for a real 3-4 star place

The location was great. The staff was rude, but the worst part was the smell, it was absolutely terrible. Read the reviews before you choose to stay here. The employees party loudly until 2am.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in during my many visits to Cologne, the room was poorly decorated (i.e. boring) there was a bed, the sheets had small holes in them, there were two dining chairs and a table with TV, the bathroom was small and narrow. The breakfast was ok but at 12.50 very expensive for what you get and the hotel itself is way over priced. This is not a 3 star hotel and barely raises itself above a hostel. I will never go back.

Location is perfect, so close to the Cologne cathedral and also Cologne Hbf is in 3 min walk. A little bit noisy until late at night but acceptable. Room was small but clean. Staff was nice too. There was staff at the front even around midnight, so why do they restrict the check-in until 6 pm?
