“Good value for money”
Clean, roomy,recently updated
“Great Deal: Low-Cost, High-Quality Hotel”
The AZIMUT is a great deal for a centrally located hotel in Cologne. The nightly rate was so far below the average in Cologne that we wondered what was wrong with the hotel. The answer: Nothing is wrong! Rooms were clean and comfortable and quite large for European hotels. The furtniture was new, and the bathroom was also very large. The hotel is located a comfortable 15-20 minute walk from the tourist areas around the Dom. We walked all the way to the Chocolate Museum, and it still only took about 40 minutes. There are a lot of nice restaraunts in the general area. We did not pay for the buffet breakfast, but it looked good as we walked by the restaraunt. The staff spoke good English and housekeeping was responsive to our requests. The hotel offered reduced rate parking in an adjoining public parking garage, so we parked our car and walked everywhere.
“One of the best choices in Cologne”
Very high quality/price ratio over all: Despite being located close to railway station Hansaring, the double-glass windows provide sufficient sound tightness. Rich, delicious and balanced breakfast. Kind-hearted and experience front-desk staff. Spacious room, & free Internet connection. Easy access to Cologne center by foot
“Rare Find for Such a Price - Grab It!”
Convenient location directly next to S-Bahn train station (K-Hansaring, just one stop away from Main Station next to Dom); nothing special about the surrounding neighborhood (on the commercial side), but a 10-minute walk solves that issue; hotel should be twice the price (it's an excellent deal); rooms are very spacious/modern for European standards; entire hotel and room was very clean; used RJ45 network cable (on loan from front-desk) plus a daily-generated keycode (from front-desk) for Internet access inside the room (because Wi-Fi was weak in certain areas); business conference and meeting rooms available for large groups, but very limited business-center comforts for an individual business travel (other than working comfortably in the room); no available printer, fax, copier, desk cubicle, phone, etc. in the so-called "business-center" (except for one small desk with a computer for guest Internet access next to people entertaining themselves at the hotel bar); front-desk helpful to make hard-copy print-outs, copies, etc. (but this is fine for a few non-confidential documents that can be emailed to them); fitness area/gym is very basic; sauna is small and nothing special (everything is clean in the fitness area, but the set-up is not inviting - you'll be better off getting exercise walking through the entire city; breakfast (buffet-style) is average with very basic volume-seating (like a large cafeteria), so you can spare this expense; hotel gets high marks at this price!
“convenient to rail. large room. A/C works GREAT.”
Family vacation. Used rail system, very convenient to hotel, less than 1 block. A/C worked GREAT, unlike some other hotels in Germany. Rooms are LARGE and clean. Staff friendly and helpful.

“Would stay here again”
After four days in a noisy, more expensive hotel in Amsterdam, I was so pleased with my room at the Azimut. I was worried about the trains that were mentioned, but they were a mere rumble in the background with no whistles. I could see the Dom from my window. Though I was there for six nights and the hotel was full up for most of that time, I never heard another soul once I got to my room. No noise through the walls, no noise from the hallway early in the morning. For those who like quiet to sleep, it was definitely peaceful. There are good overlapping blackout curtains as well. The bed was firm but comfortable with Euro style duvets without top sheets. My room was very large (a corner one, maybe they're not all that way) with a little sitting area and a large bookcase in the entryway where the closet was. The bathroom was also roomy and properly appointed. The location is great if you're planning to use the S-Bahn or U-Bahn trains. I just walked across the street and hopped on. It's an easy to use system - even the ticketing kiosks have an English button and the maps are easy to use in any language. If you're heading to the Dom area or Koelnmesse, though, it does require a transfer on the U-Bahn, but trains were frequent, safe & clean. The internet was via ethernet cable, and I had to retrieve a code every 24 hours but it was a super-fast connection. The front desk was always cordial and helpful.
“Convienient and Friendly Staff Hotel --Good Location”
This smaller hotel was perfectly located for my needs. I was at a convention at the Messe convention center. This was two S Bahn stops. One stop away is the main train station and Dom-The Main Cathedral. Hotel room was a little small, but modern and clean. My colleague was next door and we both agreed that we will come back when we are back in Koln. Several nice local restaurants are a short walking distance from hotel. Some of our collagues were at hotels across from the Messe. They ewere much larger and twice the price as well. Thanks to Expedia, we found this property
“Comfortable Hotel”
Nice hotel, clean and friendly staff. Close to the train station and subway.
“Hotel is right next to the train stop.”
The hotel is right by a train stop so you will be able to hear the trains. The noise was not unbearable but if your a light sleeper ask for a room not facing the train station. It takes about 5 mins to get to the main station and trains run frequently. The room we had was HUGE. You walk in and you have a hallway the size of the bathroom. The bed was 2 twin beds which I was not to happy with seeing I ordered a double bed but we pushed them together and it worked. The bed does not have much bedding so bring a sheet or blanket. The TV was small but in a larger room liked even smaller. There were only 2 English channels. Overall our stay was good.
