"Great Hotel on Seven Mile Beach"
We had a wonderful stay at Grand Cayman Beach Suites. The staff is fabulous. They are helpful and so friendly. Our room was great. We had a 1 bedroom Oceanview suite. It was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The hotel beach area was great. It's less crowded then other parts of Seven Mile Beach. You never have trouble getting a beach chair. The pool area and pool bar were nice as was the bar staff. The concierge booked some excursions for us as well as gave us recommendations for restaurants. We decided to rent a car for a day so we could see the east side of the island and would have been very disappointed if we had missed it. For us Americans it was an adventure driving on the left side of the road but well worth it. Definitely hope to come back.

"Exceeded Expectations"
We travel to Grand Cayman once or twice a year. Each visit, we try to stay on a different part of the island. This was our first time staying on East End. As scuba divers, the diving experience with Ocean Frontiers, and the East End dive sites were every bit as wonderful as Bloody Bay Wall in Little Cayman. The diving is the best on the island. We rented a 2nd floor, poolside, one bedroom condo. My husband and I shared the bedroom, while our adult daughter slept in one of the murphy beds in the living room She said it was very comfortable. The condo had two full bathrooms, stocked kitchen, and large balcony overlooking the pool with a view of the ocean. The condo was roomy, and clean. We prepared our own meals, often using the poolside gas grills provided. Compass Point offers a choice of housekeeping services to suite your needs or budget. We ate lunch at Eagle Rays Restaurant. The atmosphere is casual, and the food was good. The restaurant/and or hotel had special evening events such as an Asian night, and a movie night with buffet (I think). We were very satisfied.

"The Best Choice in Cayman"
I was fanatical about reading reviews before we vacationed in Cayman, and I was happy that I did. My two top choices were the Ritz and the Westin. I am so pleased that I chose the Westin, because they truly do have the best beach in the entire 7 mile beach area. They have terrific seating with umbrellas, and it is flat and not too crowded. We had lunch at the Ritz and I did not care for their seating (they have individual umbrellas over each seat and they are stacked 4 rows deep). If you are late to get to the beach, you may be looking at the back of other people's heads at the Ritz. One awesome factor of the Westin was that they have the Redsail rentals right on site. You can rent kayaks, jet skiis, or plan your excursions right from the hotel. The pool is also one of the largest on the island, and it was nice and had some shaded spots for after a long day in the sun. The outside hottubs were nice, but there was no knob to turn on the jets. Fortunately, as a Westin guest you are welcome to use the spa. Inside the spa, they have terrific bathrooms and on the women's side there is a hot tub, a steam sauna, and a dry sauna. On the men's side they just have the two saunas. The bedrooms were really nice, and the beds were really comfortable. The linens were all white and everything was spotless. My only criticism of this hotel was the dining. The food at the pool and on the beach was fair to average, but priced very high. The best value is the breakfast cafe.

"Great long weekend...some inconsistencies tho"
Great service and terrific facility. Beach is magnificent. The resort doesn't overwhelm with options which we really liked. Stayed in garden view room whose "view" was not great but who cares! Didn't spend much time in room and when we did, weren't on balcony at all. Blue was an awesome restaurant...but holy cow, pricey! Most expensive meal I've ever spent for 2 not on an expense account. Loved it tho. Very memorable. Here's where we get to the inconsistency tho...we loved Taikun, the Asian restaurant that we went to on our first night. The fish was amazingly fresh, as expected. Coming from NYC area, we know good fish. It was such a terrific meal that we went back for our 3rd night and ordered the Exact same thing. Somehow, the quality was different...lower. And they didn't bring me the same fish that I ordered for sushi. They brought the daily special, snapper, instead of the one that I ordered. I'm not stupid...I know the difference. I politely asked them to double check and chef barely had time to respond but said I was wrong. Give me a break. I order sushi weekly. Whatever...I'm not that picky so I didn't fight it. But that was the only glitch in what was otherwise a nearly perfect albeit expensive weekend. The staff was amazing, particularly the maids and pool/beach folks. I would go back in a heartbeat.
