"Clean and comfy rooms in a kinda sketchy building"
My friends and I stayed at this place 2 times within a week in December 2014. There are rooms to accommodate 1, 2, and 3 adults. The rooms were either renovated very recently (as of the time of our stay), or have always been well-maintained: they were very clean, and everything in them worked perfectly. The rooms have complimentary Wi-Fi, password-secured (not using MAC-address filtering!). This means that you can connect your streaming media-players like Chromecast to the room's big-screen TV and enjoy Netflix or other quality online content, instead of the numerous ad-overloaded satellite channels. The rooms we stayed in were facing the pub across the street, so some loud entertainment was filling the rooms until 1 AM. The rooms have traditional British two-fauceted sinks, which are ridiculously inconvenient for us Americans. The check-in took 3 minutes or less (sign the form, get your key, and you're done!). For the check-out, you simply drop off your key in the box on the wall on your way out.

"Perfect for our one night getaway"
My boyfriend and I stayed at The Racquet Club Hotel for one night as we were out celebrating a friends birthday in Liverpool city centre. The staff were very friendly and so so helpful! The room was spacious, well maintained, old with a modern twist! The bathroom was very modern and clean. Only flaw I have is that I thought the bed was far too hard for my liking. But that's just me being picky! Overall, will definitely stay here again!

"Hidden gem, don't be fooled by the surroundings!"
I'm not going to lie at first I thought something was a bit off with the street name and not being able to find it. However once we did find the hotel I have to say I was surprised. The staff were so friendly and helpful. You could see the hard work that's gone into this hotel from the entrance to the actual room. The only two niggles I had with this hotel is that one, we couldn't seem to find a socket anywhere level for the kettle and had to use the one by the bed and try to balance the kettle on the bed. Also the second is that if you are looking for a good nights sleep make sure you are not put on a bottom floor and also phone to request a higher floor. We requested a higher floor through booking online and still got a ground floor room. I'm a light sleeper so I expected to hear noise but my partner is a very heavy sleeper and he was woken a number of times from the loud buzzer at reception to banging doors all night. Regardless of this I want to say that if we'd have been on a higher floor there probably would have been no problems. Also when we went to check out again the reception staff were excellent again, so friendly and keen to make sure we were happy. We would definitely return again! The history of the building definitely had us intrigued also and we found it fascinating how they had kept true to the original design of the building.

"Great hotel on the mersey river."
Great hotel location with friendly staff. Free use of the spa for guests. Excellent buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. Lovely food for evening meals. Room service choice was pleasant too. Liverpool one shopping centre is just 5-10 mins walk from hotel, along with world famous mathew st ( cavern club ). Mathew st appears to be like a back street alley kind of place, but its just pub after pub after club after pub after bar. On both occasions that me and the wife have stayed in liverpool, we've never seen any trouble or fracas in or around the town centre. Its just a great place to meet new people. The town centre is spotless both day and night. You've also got albert dock which is also about 5 mins walk from the hotel which consists of mainly restaurants / wine bars. The tate gallery is in albert dock along with a free maritime museum.
