We arrived quite a bit early and were given a warm welcome with tea and told we could sit by the fire until our rooms were ready. The inn was clean and comfortable and well situated within the little town. We enjoyed the live music in the pub every night and the breakfast every morning. We would stay here again.

I rarely write reviews but this place stood out for its very poor value. Not terrible but I would say most lackluster hotel we stayed in throughout our Ireland trip and the most expensive by a significant factor--and this was low season. Mentioned this to the hotel staff and got a disinterested shrug. Property felt worn. Stains on the carpet. Followed advice from other reviewers and did not eat in the restaurant and instead had a lovely meal at Monks. Look elsewhere.

Cosy hotel in the heart of Ballyvaughan
It's a cosy old hotel in the heart of Ballyvaughan, on the edge of the Burren. Good food, good accommodation and a great welcome. Live music in the bar. The only drawback for us is that there is no lift/elevator, and this can mean several flights of stairs.

We had a great stay at Hylands Burren, it's adorable, quiet and the bar has a great atmosphere. Parking out back was a nice perk as well. Would definitely stay here again!!

Great spot in Ballyvaughn. Greens Pub is attached so that's a joy too. Food was good - Service int he Bar was amazing especially considering the limited staff! CHEERS to our Bartender and Servers and Kitchen staff.

This hotel needs a little care as its interiors are tired and dated. It was relatively comfortable but lacked a t air conditioning although there was a plug in fan in the room. Very young staff covering everything and no sign of a senior manager.Service was therefore pleasant but erratic. Food was good enough but nothing special and the breakfast was abundant and pleasant.

I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were so nice. The pub downstairs was exactly what I would expect at a small Irish village. The town is very quaint and the walking trails around the town are easily accessible.

It was a nice hotel, charming. Staff was helpful. Had parking, but unfortunately when people came to eat there. The parking lot would fill up fast. They also had laundry on the website. It was across the street, an outside machine, in a parking lot at the gas station .

Service Disappointing
We were disappointed in the breakfast setup. There was a large tour group staying at the hotel and they overwhelmed the breakfast area. We paid for 4 breakfasts and didn't get to enjoy it because we had to get on the road. We came down an hour before we needed to leave and it was clear we were not going to be served within an hour.

Excellent stay. Check in was quick, very friendly staff, rooms very comfortable and clean - no air conditioner, no elevators so you need to carry your luggage up. Free parking. Great location

We checked in and two hours later checked out. We had two rooms and both bathrooms had black mold and rust all over the showers. To top everything off both rooms smelled terrible!

We had a lovely large room on the 3rd floor. There is no elevator, but our bags were already in our room waiting for us. Staff was all polite and engaged. We had a great stay

The hotel is traditional in an attractive, small village. The triple room was spacious enough and comfortable. However, there was only one window and our bedroom area was warm. The non-included breakfast was superb. We had dinner at an excellent Italian restaurant just around the corner. We took a lovely evening walk on a nearby, little trafficked road along the coast to the town pier.

Reserved and paid for a king bed but received a queen. When we went to discuss with front desk staff, no kings were available. Plus, Our room window opened onto the exhaust fan for the kitchen spraying hot oily air into our room. Front desk said they could offer no recommence, even breakfast. Do not accept room 29 if you go there. The hotel is otherwise quaint though older furnishings and rotting wood. Area offers relatively little to see or do. Don’t recommend.

This town is right out of a storybook with so much charm and really allows you to see the Irish countryside. The hotel was lovely and the nightly music in the pub attached to the hotel was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious too. The town is teeny and easy to walk down to the waterfront and enjoy the views. There is no shopping and minimal food options but that was to be expected with this village. Definitely a highlight of our trip to Ireland.

Overall, this was a disappointment. The room was old and musty smelling. For a family of 4, we were given two small towels. It was hot. There was limited dining in the pub only and the food was "meh." I understand the cook was in hospital, so I understand that. But overall for the price, VERY underwhelming. Would not stay here again.

Highly recommend
The staff was wonderful. Very friendly and very helpful. The hote Is old but the beds are comfortable, the bathroom has been updated nicely, and the place is clean. The only thing I would Have wanted was some air conditioning g, but that’s not a thing in Ireland! But we had a nice stay in a quaint Irish town. We really loved two guys sitting in the bar downstairs singing Irish folk songs and playing guitar.
