We were more than pleased with our 5 night stay at Hotel Majestic. The suite we stayed in was very comfortable and we looked forward to being there at the end of a day of SF sightseeing. The staff was excellent and very accommodating. The food at Café Majestic was delicious and it was nice to have a choice to eat there rather than go out every night or morning on those mornings or evenings we preferred to relax and have a more leisurely routine. Would definitely recommend to friends and will absolutely stay at Hotel Majestic during our next trip to SF!
"Rough around the edges, but great value for money"
First impressions can be misleading with this hotel. Its not in a good area, and the reception is still under construction, making it look. However, the staff were friendly, the room was really comfortable and absolutely spotless. There is also 24 hour security, so I felt perfectly safe the whole time I was here.
Although the surrounding area is a little off-putting, the hotel is only a few blocks from a whole host of transport options (including BART), making it a good central spot to stay in. The bus from outside City Hall will have you in Fishermans Wharf in around 15 mins, Union Square is walking distance, and in general, you're only a short cab ride away from most major attractions and nightlife. There's also a whole host of nearby bars and restaurants near Gough St, also a short walking distance
In summary, this is great value for money in an otherwise expensive city for accommodation.
The location of this hotel is great for getting around SF. It is right at the end of the California cable car line and we never had to wait more than 10 minutes to get on. Our family of 4 had a nice stay here, although we wish the beds were queens instead of doubles and the sink was outside the bathroom. We felt safe and were able to get a few basic groceries for breakfasts and snacks at the nearby Whole Foods market. There are also quite a few affordable restaurants in the neighborhood. We took BART from the airport to the Civic Center station and then took a bus right to the backside of the hotel. You can get your unlimited visitor transportation passes at the information desk at the airport and they'll also give you advice about using public transportation.
Great hotel. A little out of the main stream traffic of the city, makes for a quiet stay. Four blocks away from main shopping, food and transportation street. Bus stop at hotel front door. Had a great time once we figured out the bus routes. Differently buy the all day bus tickets.
We got a good deal on our stay, therefore compared to what we paid for, everything is good. Every room in here is non-smoking. The room is nice and clean. Parking space is limited, ice machine was broken.
