Stayed here for 5 nights for spring break with my boyfriend. We arrived earlier than we thought and were able to check in around noon on the first day with no additional cost (awesome customer service). Hotel breakfast was your usual toast, muffins, bagel, waffle, fruits, juice, and yogurt. We had it the first 2 days, but for the other days, we wanted to try brunch places in SF- totally recommend Buena Vista at Fisherman's Wharf and Brenda's 2 blocks away. Hotel location was superb- close to many bus stations, and check-out was hassle free. Overall we really really enjoyed our stay!
The hotel is not in heart of San Francisco, but it is near Japan Town and not far from Civic Center. Queen Anne simply oozes character, and the staff goes to great lengths to make everyone feel at home. If one has a car, it's a perfect location. If not, there are both shuttles and easy access to public transportation. This is a hotel for people who want something different. It is!
Despite some construction debris, everything was functional. Convenient parking, very busy restaurant on premises (which is good), and an unbeatable location right in Japantown make this a desirable spot. Nice, clean, comfortable, large room.
First, the location of this hotel was absolutely perfect! We were a 15 minute walk to the wharf, we could walk to China Town and to the Coit Tower. We bought a 2 day big bus pass and there were 2 stops very close as well. Starbucks was 2 blocks away as was a Wallgreens, bars and restaurants were within a block... everything you could possibly need/want was close. The hotel staff was super helpful and gave us a great discounted price for the 2 day bus pass. The only thing that wasn't comfortable for us was a very squishy bed. It was not firm enough for back issues.
